Its About Time!!!

Walt Disney said himself, as quoted in the book, "The Quotable Walt Disney"; 'I never liked making sequels, I always wanted to move on and do somthing else'

Its not the making of sequels that was the problem for me. It was the fact that the quality was very poor in my eyes. Sequels can be great, look at toy story 2, if you have a good story. I always thought that the DTV stuff kind of cheapend Disney, so Im glad they are done. Is it me or is their not that much of a difference between making a sequel or the tinkerbell spin off.

"We want to do more franchise-driven movies," says Morrill. "We've been moving in this direction for the last two years. We're trying to find an arena where we can tell many, many stories -- not sequels. We want to find a world and then explore many stories within that world."

To me anyway franchise=sequels so whats the difference? I guess all you can hope for is more attention to making a great story and not just making ca$h. If the story is great the $$$ will come.

So they will still do direct-to-video movies, like the new Tinkerbell movie, just not sequels, right?

I'm surprised, since Disney started the whole DTV sequel idea. I still think that they will come out with another sequel every once and a while, just not in the numbers they have been doing.
