So I have reservations for this restaurant this Saturday for the first time ever. I've heard it's a fun place to eat but I'm curious if anybody here has ever eaten there and what I should expect. Thanks

I've eaten there, and enjoyed it. But expect to be seated at a big table with others, not at a small table by yourselves. It didn't bother us and it might not bother you either, depending on how social you are and how much privacy you want at dinner. And it was a pretty festive atmosphere, with an Octoberfest theme going on. Little kids were on the floor dancing to the music. And, foodwise, it was a big all you can eat buffet style dinner.

We all love it. Buffet style. Hearty fare. HUGE beers. :slurp: they have a short show every 1/2 hr. or so. Make sure you stay for it, it is fun. My teen boys love the place. Have fun.

We have eaten there on our past two trips, and I have our ADR in for our trip in May. My oldest son specifically requested we eat there again. My family (wife, two sons 15 & 18) enjoy the band and the atmosphere. I am not a connoisseur of German/Bavarian style food (I cannot handle sauerkraut - yech), but the food seems to be as good if not a little better than meals I've had in other German/Bavarian style restaurants.

I hope you've checked out the menu...some people are a little disappointed with the food. It's not fancy, but you can get your fill.

I love trying to get my wife out on the dance floor with me when the band plays. I am a little rusty on the polka, but I can still hold my own on a waltz! People are encouraged by the band to get up and dance, but not many do. I think if more people tried dancing, and toasting, the atmosphere would get a lot more festive. I have a great time (and I think my wife does, too...she just won't admit it).

We have eaten here and loved it....everyone from 5 YO to Grandpa found plenty to eat.....hint, put vanilla sauce on apple strudel....yum!

Only think my kids didn't like: they cook the weiners (Hot dogs) in the sauer kraut, but they found other things they liked. Especially the different chicken dishes.

Have a great trip!

Heading for the great escape.
We had to make an effort to stop eating there so we could try other places.

It is also one of the reasons that I never drive to Epcot.:drevil:

I've eaten there once and had really, really good food and service. Unfortunately, we had a late seating, so we were seated just after the live music. However, the food definately made up for it (assuming that you like German food).

Awsome place, a lot of fun, great atmosphere, and most importantly ZIGGY ZOGGY!!!

Oh, and the food ain't half bad either. Make sure you try the black forest cake for desert. Its a little black peice of cake with white frosting and a cherry-like thing on top. Now thats good eatin' right there...

My favorite place to eat at EPCOT and one of my favorites at the World. If you like good old fashioned german food this is the place. I have been to Germany (you know the one in Europe) on occasion and the food is exactly the same, authentic. All you can eat buffet is great when you're really hungry, starve yourself all day and eat til you can't move here. It is true, you eat at large tables with other couples/families, but I haven't had a bad experience with it, everyone has been really nice.

The show is really good, they have a guy who plays the bells amazingly. All around awesome place to eat!

We have eaten here many times. The food is great and all you can eat. Buffet style. they have a little musical show every 15 to 30 minutes depending on the time of the year.

You sit with other people unless your group is 8 then you would take the whole table up.
Its a nice way to meet other people.

We always enjoy it. I am sure you will too.

Love the Biergarten. There are different shows/performances that I am aware of. In one they break out all kinds of crazy instruments. I've been lucky enough that I've seen two different shows during dinner.

This is our absolute favorite place to eat. We have gone every trip since our honeymoon way back in '95! Like others have said, everyone in the group can find something to eat and the music is great. My oldest nephew, who is going to Germany with his school's German club enjoyed talking to the waitstaff in German.

The Biergarten is one of my families favourite places to eat in all of WDW. I've never been to Germany, so I can't say how authentic the food is. I've heard a lot of people say the food is very authentic, so that's a good sign. The food is also much better then the German restaurant by where I live, don't think that really matters much to you though, lol. I recommend the Sauerbraten, definately the best meal there!

The performances are fun too, I like when they play "It's a Small World" with cow bells. It probably would be my favourite place on property to eat if it wasn't for the seating, but it's not so bad, just not the place to eat if you're not interested in small talk with the family of next to you.

Do not miss it - we loved it!! The only thing that disappointed us, we were really looking forward to sharing our table and possibly making new Disney friends. Apparently, no one told the people whose table we ended up sharing. They made their feelings pretty clear that we were intruding. Fortunately, they were nearly done when we arrived; by the time we came back from the 2nd trip to the buffet, they were gone and we had the table to ourselves. Great food, music was so much fun, would definitely do it again.
