I was just thinking and i know you like to read and help people here so i want your help. I think we should all write a letter to disney and say to let Plasure Ilse be for everyone BECAUSE it is in downtown Disney where tehy have toystores and DISNEYWORLD is for the FAMILY and to have to be 18 is not fair to me I think if you are DisneywOrld you should be fair to EVERyone not just to older people so i think at DisneyWorld I sould be able to get in and to drink things if i want to (as long as i pay for it!!!) WHAT DO YOU think ???? Everyone rite to this and i'll make a letter to them and say you signed it and they'll have to change for US because we like them!!!

If you want to go to DTD, go during the day. At that time anyone can access the stores. If you really want access at night, have your parents take you. I have seen many youngsters at PI after dark. If you're under 21; you're not drinking, Florida law is pretty clear about that. And if you think i'm going to write a letter so that another teenager can have rights to alcohol, you're crazy. There are enough problems with binge drinking among college students, what do you think would happen if the drinking age was lowered? You can wait just like everyone else.

The whole point of PI is a place that adults can go at WDW where kids can't. Personally I don't care much for PI and since I am now a mother it might be a long time until I go back. I do not aprove of parents bringing little ones there, let them go back to the room and sleep and enjoy MK the next day. :brick:

We made the mistake of going on St. Patricks day our first time, wall to wall drunks and people putting out ciggeretes on you. Not my idea of fun. I do enjoy CC and AC, the only 2 non smoking places in the whole place.

If I was going to get a babysitter and leave the kid at the hotel, Atlantic dance is a much better option for a night out of dancing and fun. :)

Melstormrocks, you are going to get very little support from anyone over 21. Just wait, you will grow up soon enough and there are a world of other places to enjoy.

I am also under 21 (for another couple of months) BUT, I do not agree with the idea to make PI all ages...
Think of it as something to look forward to for when you turn 18, or 21. Now, when you ARE 21, do you REALLY think you are gonna want a bunch of "little ones" running around being all obnoxious (wow i probably shouldnt have said that!! sorry)

sigh
let me put it this way, I go to an all ages club around here just about every week. It is supposed to be 18+ because it is a bar, but they dont check ID's therefore there are a lot of kids there that are 15 or 16 and it can start to feel like the prom in there...

My Point (FINALLY I KNOW!!) When you become "of age" you're gonna want to hang out with others of the same age... right??

Look at it from this perspective. Do you really want some big drunk guy chasing your 16 yr. old rear all over PI? The adults need a place for some adult time. Period.

LOL!

I do think Disney is missing the boat by not having an underage dance club. Although, teens do not usually have the cash to make it a profitable venture. Considering the extra security you'd have to hire to curb the "troublesome" teens (i'm not saying all teens are troublesome) it's probably not worth their effort.

I, for one would not want to have to deal with teens at Pleasure Island.

Must Be This Tall To Ride

Just as WDW has "children only zones" at attractions, parks, resorts, cruise ships, etc., they are so entitled to having "adult only zones."

Mind you, as has been previously mentioned, Pleasure Island is open to all ages under the simple condition that they be accompanied by parent/gaurdian.

Also, as has been previously mentioned, certain statutes regulate minimum age requirements to do things such as: purchase tobacco, alcohol, "adult" entertainment material, vote in presidential elections, serve in military, drive a motor vehicle, ...the list goes on.

Regulations are in place for a reason, and I promise you that the asthetics at Pleasure Island is not WDW's biggest priority. (If it were, minors would not be allowed, period.) One must consider such issues as safety and liability.

One may draw an allusion to height requirements for WDW rides. Mind you, an 8 year old might be taller than a 34 year old (dwarf). Theight regulation is in place not to discriminate against age, but to ensure some degree of safety. It is this reasoning for which unsupervised minors are not permitted into PI, and just about every other nightclub in the continental United States.

i, being 17, would like to be able to get in to PI without my parents, but that's the thing i think u guys might be missing, teenagers can get into PI at night, with their parents/guardian (except for the two 21+ clubs, then u have to be 21+)....if an under 18 really wants to go, they can go with their parents....little kids have things like the neverland club and teens find their own places to have fun (we're very good at it too!) :)

Wow i certainly dont agree with this dudes post. I love PI and dont want to see a bunch of Jr's running around in an adult area. When im heating up the dance floor i dont need little suzie running around knocking my drinl out of my hands. Stay in school and one day you too can enjoy PI.

I agree with most people on this thread....PI should be left for the adults. besides, it's one little place out of how many acres? and you can still go to marketplace and west side. sounds to me like you just want to be able to go into PI just because it's the only place in the World that you can't go at night. i could be wrong though. look at all the other places you CAN go! why would you want to go to PI when you're underage anyway? maybe that's a dumb question....but still, there's so many other fun things you can do while the adults are partying! honestly, if you ask me, this may sound mean, but if you can't wait a few more years to go, that's pretty bad....as for being able to drink whatever you want to just because you pay for it...i would NEVER sign or consent to anything saying it's ok for minors to drink....i don't even think it's ok for adults to drink (well, it's ok every once in a while...but too much is too much, ya know?) so, i'm sorry, but i really don't think Disney would allow such a thing...and, as someone else has already said, adults have a right to have their own space in WDW just as kids do!
