Laugh Floor comedy club

Was at the MK on Tuesday with DD9, and DFiance, and we actually got to check out the comedy floor show. We thought it was quite funny, some of the jokes being a little dated though.. Thought it was cool that people can send in their jokes to be used during live performances. Ella of Sam n Ella needs some work on her mouth animation, her geography bit was hilarious though. Was snapping some pictures of the queue (some silly banners about.. Will post pics later) when I was practically assaulted by a CM who came running at me and tapped me on my back while yelling about no pictures... I didn't know, none of the people gathering folks for test runs told anyone not to take pictures. All in all, looks like it's going to be a fun interactive show ala turtle talk.

Nice to see a positive report. Despite, the several negative reports I've seen about this show, I still have a generally positive feeling about it. I think the reason we see reports that all over the place on this is that its comedy. I have a feeling they're trying out different acts and are seeing what works and what doesn't. The other extremely hard to gauge thing is the individual audience. Sometimes an audience will laugh at a bit, it opens the floodgates and everyone keeps laughing. The EXACT same show can then bomb with the next audience. I think in another thread on this topic someone noted comedy is hard. Truer words have never been spoken.

Pics

Here's a couple pics from the queue, before I was practically accosted by a CM ordering me to stop taking pictures (I had no idea.. I wouldn't have even snapped these if they'd told me beforehand)

I don't get the whole "No pictures" thing.

Hello, I'm in Disney World...on vacation...a vacation that I'd like to take pictures on so that I can relive those memories.

I have a feeling its more the CM's than Disney exec's that tell people not to take pictures.

Are they afraid that a competitor will be able to get an attraction that's just like it built, finished, and tested before they can?

I can see if they said "No Flash Photography" (especially at live shows) because it could interfere with the performance or setting that they are trying to make...but to say that you can't take any pictures period just seems a little odd. What if I'm taking a picture of someone in my family INSIDE that building? I can't take a picture of my family? I don't buy the whole "patented," "copywrited," trademarked," excuse either because if that's the case, Cinderella Castle shouldn't be one of the most photographed (if not THE MOST photographed) buildings in the world.

I have a feeling this will be a love it or hate it attraction. Some people will feel some of the jokes are corny, but others will find them hilarious...as mentioned before comedy is one of the toughest things to do...if the timing is not just right it could fall completely flat. I always felt it was a shame there is not a seperate Oscar for comedies...I think it will be nothing short of a miracle if they can make this work for every performace.

Well, over at the new (And awesome I might add) Nemo Musical Show there is no photography of any kind allowed during the performance.. I think this actually might have something to do with some of the concepts belonging to the Avenue Q people? Not sure though.. But I've been seeing this a lot with the newer attractions not just no flash photography but no photography at all... Speaking of which.. Star Tours, does it say no FLASH photography? because DFiance was going to get a shot of our pilot without the flash and the CM barked at her that there was no photography period...So maybe in some cases it is just a CM's decision and some cases it is corp policy. I think most attractions or shows that are being tested or soft opened there have been no photo rules

Anyway, enough thread drift. :)

This show seems to have some potential, yet I fail to see why it's placed in Tomorrowland. Thankfully I never got to see Timekeeper 'else I'd probably not like the new show as much. :)
