Walt Disney Co., which bought Pixar Animation Studio for $8.06 billion last year, will keep the staff separate from Disney Animation, where the company plans to continue making films with hand-drawn animation, reports Bloomberg.

Pixar is rewriting the technology it uses to make films and will share it with Disney Animation, Ed Catmull, president of Pixar and Disney Animation, said today at an investor meeting in Orlando, Florida.

So, if Pixar is going to be busy rewriting the technology it uses to make films, who's going to replace them at rewriting WDFA's movie scripts.:ROFLOL:
 
Actually, if you click on the link and read the Toy Story 3 article it states that Disney is going to do 2D again (which is actually older news now), but it doesn't say that Pixar is taking on all 3D projects while Disney takes 2D.

Catmull denied speculation that Walt Disney Feature Animation may become a 2-D-only studio, with Pixar handling CGI, though he did confirm the Mouse will bring back hand-drawn pics.
