Random rehab ramblings

OK, I followed a link given in another thread about the upcoming RnRC rehab, and the discussion about them adding a single rider line. The link was to the Orange County Official Records. Doing a few searches I found a few things of note: (Or at least a few things that SOMEONE might be interested in)

-During Typhoon Lagoon's rehab, at least one bridge and stairway at the Shark Reef will be demolished and rebuilt:
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28517116&file_num=20060759434&doc_status=I

-The long-unused FastPass machines are finally being removed at the Haunted Mansion.
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28512008&file_num=20060754700&doc_status=V

-The windows of the Spaceship Earth VIP Lounge are being replaced:
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28512016&file_num=20060754708&doc_status=V

-The Main Entrance PI Ticket booths aren't going anywhere, they're getting rotten wood replaced.
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28507834&file_num=20060750855&doc_status=V

-The upcoming El Rio del Tiempo refurb will entail the replacement of the ride control consoles, intrusion system in the ride, PA system upgrades and adding gates to the platform.
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28507831&file_num=20060750852&doc_status=V

-It appears that a second Turtle Talk theater is on the way. There's a filing for installation of HVAC equipment for "Turtle Talk II".
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28505737&file_num=20060748870&doc_status=V

-Further proof of the "construction trailer compound" at the STOLPORT for the Contemporary.
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28495679&file_num=20060739422&doc_status=V

And that's just things filed in November!

And of course, my browser crashed as I was typing up more of these, and I lost all I'd typed.... So here's a re-typed post...

Here's some more finds:

-More confirmation of a second Turtle Talk theater:
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28475159&file_num=20060719727&doc_status=V

-Installation of an ALF (Air Launched Fireworks) launcher at the American Gardens Theater. It says "installation and relocation", though it's unclear whether this is moving the UK launcher so that it no longer has to fire over a Guest area, or moving the first explosion's shell launcher off of the Inferno Barge.
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28448023&file_num=20060694484&doc_status=V

-Not a major deal, and there's too many forms to list, but apparently all the elevators within the MK are being refurbished. (I'm sure the Cast Members are thrilled)

-At some point the Tomorrowland Speedway's load area will be reconfigured to increase the number of load zones per lane
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28464094&file_num=20060709321&doc_status=V

-And *gasp* the post-show at Spaceship Earth is being worked on! :)
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28475161&file_num=20060719728&doc_status=V

-Another non-shocker, the VIP Lounge at Spaceship Earth is being refurbished (in addition to having the windows replaced as mentioned earlier)
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28464095&file_num=20060709322&doc_status=V

-Could the Adventurer's Club be getting its own merchandise kiosk? Installation of a sprinkler in a new kiosk...
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28444778&file_num=20060691483&doc_status=V

-Installation of an "Electronic Turnover System" at Kali. Not sure, but perhaps it's some sort of on-board system that sets off an alarm in case a raft tips over?
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28438633&file_num=20060686059&doc_status=V

-A form for "Abatement and General Demolition Work". The location is only listed as "4650 N. World Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL". Google Maps places this squarely at the Contemporary.
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28416718&file_num=20060665893&doc_status=V

-Elevator installation for the "Castle Penthouse Suite"
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28405368&file_num=20060655407&doc_status=V

http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28387348&file_num=20060638396&doc_status=V

-Confirmation that there will be some demolition and reconstruction involved in the Riverside Food Court's closure.
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28387349&file_num=20060638397&doc_status=V

-The "regional tip board" is returning to Epcot outside Mission: Space. Who knows if it's just temporary or is coming back permanently.
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28374985&file_num=20060626578&doc_status=V

-"Conduit and cable for Dinosaur Animation". Think this is what was wrong with the running Carno all these months?

Brilliant work sir!

Note at El Rio it is proposed to demolish the current load / unload platform. Bit more than a minor makeover me thinks?

Thank you so much for posting those! I'm sure it was no easy task. It's good to know that amidst all the rumors and such there IS actually lots of working being done on our beloved WDW.

This link is to Repair of the Oasis Swing Bridge at AK. Cool diagram on the second page with an accurate layout of the Oasis. Left side is the exit to the bridge to discovery island.

Whoops, I pasted in the wrong link.
Here's the correct one for the Dinosaur animation cabling and conduit.

As for the Oasis bridge, you've actually got it backwards. On the diagram, Discovery Island is to the right and the park entrance is to the left. I think that bridge is cool, and hardly anyone ever seems to find it because the Discovery Island end is hidden in the rockwork, and most people don't take the path that crosses from one side of the Oasis to the other, so they miss the other end of the bridge.

I totally agree. There's always stuff going on that we don't know about in terms of repairs and upgrades. The items I posted are just the more interesting ones. There were tons of other items that had to do with lighting upgrades and replacement, tile replacement, drinking fountain repairs and replacements, new signs, parking lot work, network and power cabling, etc.

One more:

-Though we know about the new biometrics at the turnstiles at the main parks, in filing for replacing those they also included Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach and DisneyQuest...
http://officialrecords.occompt.com/...id=28131143&file_num=20060398496&doc_status=V
Also interesting to note on those pages, the International Gateway wasn't inlcuded in the diagrams, nor were the Rainforest Cafe turnstiles. And the area diagram for the Epcot main entrance shows the old planter layout rather than updated to include the tombstones...
