My electricity went out and when it came back on ...my computer had crashed.:(.
I lost almost all of My Maggie pictures and I am losing my mind.

I have a bunch of them on her website but I lost a good amount of them.

Is there anything I can do?..Thanks In advance...:(:(:(

Hang in there! We have a lot of great people who are always willing to help. Have you finished looking thru the files on your HD yet?

If you didn't put them in a specific folder there may just be single pics all over the place.

Do you know what format you use to store your photos? Most photos get stored as a "jpg" file, with the extension of the name of the photo being "jpg." (Sorry if I'm talking down to you, but I don't know your level of computer experience.)

Go to your Start button, click it, select Search, and follow the instructions to search your files and folders for the following - *.jpg. The asterisk is a wildcard, and the search will bring up any file with the extension of jpg. Of course, if you use a different format for your photos, replace the jpg with the extension of whatever format you used to store your photos.

Any questions, just ask.:)

Check your recycle bin first.

Do you have a system restore?

Were they stored on C: or D: drive?

I don't underestand how a system creash could wipe your HD.

Do you have virus protection/firewall?

You might want to call someone like the Geek Squad!

Huh... so... the power went out, and your pictures are gone?
Sounds odd...
All I know is the electricity went out for like 5 min..when it came back on..The Welcome to Windows thing came on ..and I had to do what I did when i first got the computer..I was confused and went to check my pictures andd they wrer gone..I have no idea..
Have you tried opening a picture viewer/editor and trying to open recently viewed photos?
No..How do you do that?..Im computer illiterate...

The picture viewer would be the program that you normally use to view your pictures.

I would advise against a system restore if you are not sure what you are doing.

If your pictures where stored in My Documents, they may be in My Pictures.

Sometimes there are zip files of the pictures also.

Try opening up Windows Explorer and rooting around in My Documents. (just don't delete anything !)
