About 6 months ago someone from another message board site told me that when her vacations at WDW have come to an end, her family throws out their mugs that they had purchased on that trip. I know there have been serious mug debates before & no I am not trying to start another one. I was just wondering do you think it's a waste to spend $11.99 for whatever amount of mugs you purchase, to just throw them away once your vacation is over? I know some of you may say well you can't bring them back on your next visit to WDW but I say instead of throwing them out why not keep them as souviners, or something else? I personally see it as waisting $11.99 if your going to throw out your mugs but if this person wants to do that, then it's not my money so they can do what they want. So what do you all think?

No, we don't throw them away. We use them at home, we've worn out a few. We buy new ones each trip and have some from a bunch of different resorts. They come in handy for guests who need a mug of coffee to go.

I only have one resort one (though I have a Brother Bear one I got in MK that's the same size and shape) from when I stayed overnight at WL, but I wouldn't toss it! No way. It goes with me in my backpack when I'm temping so I can make myself a cup of hot tea. (I don't drink coffee.) And on Friday, when I had to meet with my sister to get my bridesmaid hair done for my sister's wedding, I brought it with me so I could sip it and not spill it in the car. They're far too nice to be disposable. I've had mine for a couple years now.

We have saved our mugs every year since 1997 when the resort had them. Because we have not stayed at value resorts every year, they are a great momento. By the way we leave in 5 days!!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!! :sohappy: :sohappy:

We do not throw our mugs away. We dont bring them back on vacations either. We use them at home. Just like the Popcorn buckets. :king:

Why throw it out?
It's perfectly usable!
I've been using mine from a few years back and it's still going strong!
Besides being useful, it's a nice reminder of a happy time!

Check out my new avatar for a photo of what we do. My wife created an entire shelf, in my office, with souvenir mugs, etc. This photo shows about 2 feet of the 6 foot length.

I have only bought them 2 times but we have both sets. The first is from our honeymoon in Oct 1996 so they are 10 years old.

if i already have a certain mug at home and get a copy on my next trip then i throw it out but not because it could be usefull later but because it becomes the 1 item theres no room left in the carry on for and with the stuipd law about carry on drinks i can no longer carry on somthing to drink in my cup now.

We still have all our mugs - since 1996. We probably 'should' throw some out because we're only a family of two but we just can't do it! We use them when we go to the pool/beach back home or sometimes outside on the patio (to keep bees from landing on my drink)! They're also great for when the nieces/nephews come over.

Not old, just vintage.
I definetly don't throw mine out. I have some dating back to when they first came out (1996?) I have a whole shelf and a half of Disney mugs. They don't always get used but some see action every once in a while.
