Christmas Carol
Let me start with I'm a Disney World nut, my wife is a Christmas Carol nut. She picked me up at 3:30 yesterday after work (movie theater is 1/2ml. away). She wanted a good seat for the 4:30 show. We sat down as the credits from the fist show were running. The family in front of us (still watching the credits, told us "It was great" and "Were going to see it again!" Well there not the only one's, we'll be back to see it again too! That's all I need to say.

Saw it last night - absolutely loved it. But be warned, some parts are a little intense for small children - this is definitely not the Muppets. There was a guy beside me with his grandkids - I'm guessing 3,4,5 years old. He ended up with all 3 of them on his lap when Marley's ghost arrived.
That being said, Jim Carrey did a wonderful job, and I'm not a fan of him AT ALL. The 3D effects were great, and the overall graphics were superb. I thought a couple of the scenes were overdone and dragged on a little too long, but overall, a really great piece of work. Kudos to the Disney animators. I would go see it again, and it will be added to my video collection when it comes out - I may even splurge on the Blu-Ray edition.

I support your reviews. I did think Carrey mastered Scrooge and I really couldn't tell it was him playing the three other ghosts - a testament to the special effects! I also thought the film lived up to the novel in a way that few other films have in the past. I totally agree that it should be added to a Christmas collection.
Did anyone see it in IMAX? |

I have not seen it yet but some of the 3rd graders I teach have and they have mixed thoughts. Majority of them loved the movie a few got scared(they saw it in 3D)
My sister who is in 7th grade is going on a field trip to see the movie(LUCKY DUCK) and I'm sure that age group will love it

We saw it and liked it. Not loved it. It's probably the best adaptation of a Christmas Carol that we have seen in a long time, but admittedly the motion capture technique leaves me a little cold. I miss real performances (Although some would argue that there were real performances in the film). Also the budget that boxofficemojo.com lists for the film is 200 million dollars!!?!?!? It was hard to see 200 million dollars on the screen.
I'm sure we will add it to our movie collection when it appears in stores. Be warned if you haven't seen it. Very moody and scary in parts. Dialog was right out of the book for the most part (I was glad of that!). Zemekis is a very talented director, and can bring together effects and story like nobody else out there. I think, however, that he should give motion capture a rest for awhile and come back a little ways toward his audience. Can you hear me Mr. Zemekis? PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPlease? |

The effects were great, and the fact that it was true to the story was great.. but it terrified me, honestly. I have no stamina for the ghost of Christmas yet to come type thing. If I'd seen that as a child I wouldn't have slept for a month and a half.

I really want to go and see this movie. I do not know what is taking me so long.
Is it worth seeing it in 3D?

I loved it. It was amazing, but I highly suggest seeing it at the nearest IMAX. It was even more amazing there.
