I am a 20 year old junior currently enrolled in college. I am currently majoring in Business with Science Applications. With this major I am taking all the normal science courses such as Chem, Bio, Organic Chem, Human Physio, etc; but then I am also taking all fo the business courses such as Marketing, Econ, Accounting, etc.

My dream however is to work for Disney and I have finally decided that I want to make it my career and not just a dream.

Assessing my skills, I have come to the conclusion that I would love to work somewhere within the Animation Studios or something along those lines. I have a strong art background and one would be hard pressed to find a day that I am not out drawing. I however do not want that to be my career entirely, I feel I would be best suited in some sort of Business role within the art process. I am currently a Resident Assistant at school and am very good at leading groups. I would am looking for a position in which I could lead a team of artists, so that I could have the business aspect and still be around and able to contribue art.

I have always dreamed of taking a year off after College and getting some sort of position at a Disney park as well.

What I am here asking then, is for help. I am contemplating minoring in Art as well, to show a very well rounded individual and further increase my artistic skills. What sort of career however would I be looking for and what would I need to do to attain it? I was looking at all of the internships possible through Disney found here http://corporate.disney.go.com/media/careers/campus-overview.pdf

However I am having a hard time figuring out what exactly I would look to doing. As I said I will be majoring in Business but at the same time have a true passion for art and would consider furthering my education on the subject. With that in mind what sort of career would I be able to attain utilizing my business and art skills? Also if I were to go further for a Master's, what sort of degree would be most beneficial?

I understand that this is long winded and probably both repetitive and confusing, but I seriously would appreciate input/help.

Thank you in advance.

**I live right outside of Chicago if area affects anything in terms of opportunities though I would be fine with leaving**

You have too many dreams. Pick one and focus on it.

Once you make it a reality, become the best at it.

Then knock on Disney's door.

My dream is to work with Disney Studios. I want to find a career that blends both business and art. I am curious of the possible positions available with that.

My other thoughts are merely thrown out there. If working for a park would help, then I would love it. If an internship would help, I would love it. However, the first part of this post is my true dream.

An internship is the best way in. To do ANYTHING with animation, in any role, you will need to be in Southern California.

Keep in mind that this is Disney. Outside of some pockets in the US (Central Florida), having Disney on a résumé is considered an asset. Internships at Disney are extremely competitive (with the exception of the WDW College Program), moreso than in other companies. Disney knows that they can get the best of the best, and will pick them.

Are there any type of positions offhand that you could think of that would combine the things that I am looking at?

In looking at the provided areas for internships with the provided link earlier, would you have some input on where to start there?

Also, if I were looking at completing a Masters program, what sort of field would it be in? Should I go more in Animation, or perhaps Arts Administration?

Looking at the site for Disney Studios, I see that Production Manager is a possible role. That role sounds intriguing to me. For future reference, does anyone know what that job would entail and how one would go about qualifying for it?

Complete it in whatever you want... the truth about Disney is this. They're more interested in your experience than in your education. Study french literature, folllow it up with a master's in marine biology, and a doctorate in applied physics. It doesn't matter as long as you can sell yourself to the mouse based on your experience (actually, don't study french literature)

It's not as easy as you want it to be. There is no right path... there are suggested paths, and every single CM I know that's taken one of those paths has ended up miserable in their job... it may not be immediate, but it has happened to EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM.

Pick what your heart tells you to first, and start from there. Don't nitpick, just jump in. The very best Disney CM's (across the board) tend to be very passionate people about their field (even if not about the company), who do their job well.

And if it's not on the list. Well, go to another company, do well, and let Disney come to you. On your terms.
