Multiple park admission on a single day

Is it possible to buy a two day ticket and use one ticket at two different parks on the same day? This would keep me from having to purchase the hopper option.

No
1-day ticket with HOPPER option = $136.00
2-day ticket without HOPPER option = $161.00

Why would you choose option 2?

I agree, why would want to spend more money?

I think that if the OP had known about the Park Hopper option, or had ever been given a lesson on the MYW system, he probably wouldn't have asked this question.

So, hopefully this forum has just done someone a favor - exactly as it was meant to do.

Think of a base ticket as a "one day one park" ticket. No matter how many days you have on your ticket, you can only go to one theme park per day.

If you don't have the park hopper option on your ticket, and you try to enter a second theme park in a single day, the turnstile at the second park will not unlock after you insert your ticket. The computer system knows you've already used that ticket at a different theme park earlier that day. The turnstile will not unlock, the display will say "ACCESS DENIED" and a cast member will probably come over to address the situation. On the cast member's side, he/she will have more information on their display and will explain to you exactly why you are being denied admission.

I see where OP is going with this.

So in defense-- when you already are purchasing tickets for say 7 days- an additional day is only another $6 or something like that. Certainly much less than the $100 it costs to upgrade to the parkhopper for all of the days.

But obviously from the other responses- they won't let you do it.

So it WOULD actually be economical if you DID only want to parkhop for the one day. Would be pretty cool if they did actually.

Yeah I tried that with a 10-day ticket that I had for a 7 day trip and tried to park hop... Got shut down and ended up buying a one-day hopper for the last day. That sucked.

That's the point... On a Magic Your Way ticket you're buying DAYS in the theme parks, not ADMISSIONS to the theme parks.
A 6-day MYW ticket gives you admission to the parks for 6 *calendar* days. In order to enter more than one park on any (or all) of those days, you must add the Park Hopper option. (Which is about $55 per ticket regardless of the number of days on the ticket, not $100)

Right. They're giving you that ultra cheap 10th (plus 7th, 8th, and/or 9th) day with the hopes that you'll spend each of those days sleeping in a Disney hotel, buying Disney food, seeing Disney merchandise you need to pick up, etc. As a result, they're willing to give you a huge break on admission just to keep you on site for another day (or several).

But if you could use that break multiple times at different parks in the same 24-hour period, it would defeat the very motivation Disney had for giving you the break in the first place.

It would be cool though, if you could (for shorter visits) get a less expensive 2 park ticket for the day instead of paying the $52+ for access to all four parks.

Yeah, but Disney doesn't want you going for just one or two days. You won't have nearly enough time to be lulled into buying lots of souvenirs in two days. They want you there for at least a week, and they don't want you renting a car and going off-property. Everything Disney's been doing ever since Epcot opened is to cater to longer visits at the expense of one- or two-day visits. They may lose some business this way, but I guess they see the extra business they generate from catering to longer visitors as more than offsetting that loss.

You're welcome!

And to clarify- I said it was an extra $100 because for my husband and I to add parkhopper for 7 days- it was a total of $104. (Coincidentally, we opted out of the parkhopper and used that same money to buy passes to MVMCP instead- essentially allowing us to park hop that one day by going to the party. Another option to consider...)

But since you didn't word the question that way, you got a lot of useless answers that had nothing to do with "where you were going".

It would have been easier to just say a big "NO" had you asked what you actually wanted to know.
