Alrighty, this comes from a VERY good friend of mine, who has been EXTREMELY reliable during the past years! (Keep in mind: only rumors, albeit reliable ones)

STITCH IN ALIEN ENCOUNTER
Alien Encounter will close in "ABOUT A MONTH" in order for Stitch to take over.

NO SPACESHIP EARTH MAJOR REHAB!/SMALL WORLD SHOP
The Spaceship Earth gutting and revamp has been indefinitely postponed as has the giftshop for "small world." (This gift shop was scheduled to be put in the Skyway station in Fantasyland.)

SOARIN'
New footage for Soarin' has been made - OVER Walt Disney World! This is so that the Disneyland scene at the end of DCA's version can be fixed to use Walt Disney World. This explains the helicopters over the resort within the past month. The "Soarin'" film from DCA will be temporary only; a new film is scheduled to replace it in a few years time.

FOOD ROCKS
It is possible that only the queue area for Food Rocks will be used for Soarin'. It is also possible that the show may be moved. Otherwise, the rest of Gemini is still possible, but the only definite involves Soarin'.

Good news? Bad news? Everything seems great to me - but let's hope they keep Skippy at AE! :D

(EDIT: And so they did!)

AE and Stitch, well, its years since i went on AE because i always seemed to have no time to do it, but what i remember it was great, providing it is as good, Stitch is ok i suppose, though instead of changing 'classics' i think DIsney should work on other approaches.

SPACESHIP EARTH - The attraction is very dated, but still enjoyable, the delay will give people the chance to ride again before it closes at least :)

Food Rocks - Can't say i remember it, but its had good reviews from many people here, its one less 'classic' closing, so its all good news :)

Spaceship Earth hath been granted a stay of, er-, "termination"?

Regardless, that is good news... Although a change for SE is going to happen in the future, at least people will be able to ride this beloved favorite a few more times! :D

NO SPACESHIP EARTH MAJOR REHAB!/

No rehab at all? or postponed? I was looking forward to that... I think it's outdated... I only been on it twice... and I would probably not make a line to ride it again on my next visit.

This explains the helicopters over the resort within the past month. The "Soarin'" film from DCA will be temporary only;

You mean the soaring is going to open with the DLC version? Why?? isin't 2 years enough time to edit the current film they are shooting? If in fact the helicopter were the ones filming?

the rest of Gemini is still possible,
is the fate of gemini in the hands of stuff that might happend after Mission space and soaring opens?

Great Upadate!

Well if anybody has read just about any of my posts they will know how I feel about Alien Encounter so I'll just save that. But don't expect Skippy to stay. Most of the CM's I talked to said they don't expect him to. I know I know CM's but still it came from alot of them.

It's great to hear how Spaceship Earth is going to stay a little longer. But I do have a request: Please do not turn on Attention Spiels as soon as the ride cars stop. It gets really annoying. I don't mind if the cars have to stop to accomidate handicapped but they don't have to blare out the spiel immediately and repeat it over and over. Oh well

And it's also great to hear how Soarin is coming to Epcot. I haven't got to experience the ride in DCA but I have seen many videos of it on the internet and contrary to what some have said I believe the current SOC video would do just fine in Florida. You really can't tell it is totally based in California because California has so many different types of land areas. This is really a great idea to maybe bring some more people into not only the Land pavilion but Future World West as a whole. Or is that Discoveryland West yet?

No rehab is currently planned...this can change.

Disney California Adventure...yes. It apparently has to do with budget, and a replacement film may be in the works and ready to show by 2007.

Project: Gemini right now may or may not happen "officially." Nothing has lead me to believe it won't...but if things start to happen, this will be after M:S officially opens and following Soarin'...

I am soooooooo excited about Soarin' coming to The Land. I think it is such a great concept, but unfortunately nothing 'thrilling' could have been done to get that concept across until now. I am very excited and happy.

About Spaceship Earth....as far as i knew I though SE was going to be turned into a rollercoaster during Gemini??? If this is true, I will be very dissapointed. The landmark of Epcot is being turned into a big 'six flags' like attraction. It all started with the big mickey hand...........

In the words of Forrest Gump..."and thats about all I have to say about that..."

Sad to hear about Skippy, he has always been my favorite part of this ride - actually prefer the preshow to the show on this attraction.

As for Soarin', as someone who has gone on this attraction at DCA there are only two things that I can remember as being obvious to California - the Golden Gate Bridge and Disneyland. (Although flying over the dessert and ski mountains don't lend themselves to Florida, they are quite breathtaking.) If they are already to change the Disneyland part then I'm sure that the rest is coming soon.

Uhmm.. I've read all this post about Stich coming to alien Encounter... and all this Poor Skippy...

Is the only update of the ride, on the preshow? Cuz I don't recall Skippy in the actual ride... Heck... I just can't see Stich in the actual ride, it would kill the suspence... But lets see.

And another thing I was going to ask...
If is has the green light, it must be something good right?? When has Disney let down people on stuff like this?? :lookaroun

Man I just hope it dosen't kill the scary factor... Cuz I don't find Stich that scary.

Amen  I think it's downright terrifying.

I hate to tell the other gentelman that there will be no more scary factor in Stitch Encounter. That is the whole reason for the change. This will be kiddie show to the max or so I have been told.

And I hate to tell everyone else that it looks like Skippy is going to join Chairman Clench and friends in the group of "Lost Characters".

It seems like more people are AE fans that I originally thought. I sorta thought the show had a "cult" following but now it seems like it really was a "classic" in alot of people's mind. I know it will always be a classic to me.

When has Disney let people down on stuff like this? Gee...let's see there was Tiki Room Under New Management, Journey Into Imagination 2, the abomination that is now Dinoland with the Primeval Whirl and Triceratops spin in the horrid carnaval setting.
How's that for a start?

2 years is plenty of time to edit. I think what he means is that it will be the same film as DCA except for they will edit the end (which is about 10 seconds in the film) so that you end up at the WDW instead of Disneyland.

As for the rest of the film, they could call it "Soarin' over the land" and nobody would know that the whole thing was shot over california.

BTW, Soarin' over florida wouldn't be too exciting. What are they going to soar over a bunch of flat swampland and subdivisions. California has a much more interesting geography. When they do replace the film, I could see "Soarin' over America" but certianly not limited to Florida! I love living here but if I was a pilot, I'd find a lot more interesting places to sight see.
