Price info?

Can anyone give me an approximate price for the initial purchase and the annual maintenance costs? I hear they increase every year. Also, points info would be greatly appreciated. I have the DVD, although I haven't watched the last 3 sections yet, but I doubt it will get into any pricing. Plus, I would rather get info from actual members rather than an advertisement. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

According to allears:

- Minimum of 160 points required at initial purchase, and point cost is $112 each, so $17290 USD to start.

- Maintenance fees range from $3.67 to $6.95 per point based on your "home resort" choice.

Lot of other good introductory info too:

I am not a DVC member, but hopefully some others can help answer your questions from that perspective.

The initial point cost varies by resort. Animal Kingdom Villas is $112/point while Bay Lake Tower is slightly more expensive at $120/point.

The current discount for a 160 point purchase is $6/point at BLT and $10/point at AKV. The per-point discount increases with larger purchases. Promotional discounts are subject to change.

Annual dues also vary by resort. You can see the current costs here. The member contract allows for dues increase of up to 15% per year but the actual increase is typically only 3-5% per year.

Great, thanks for the info, it is well appreciated. I'm not planning on anything for a few years. After new baby arrives and gets a little older. Overall, is everyone happy with the DVC? Thanks again.

The above is all correct just adding to it.

The initial cost can be as little as 10% down and then you can finance the rest of you so desire. You finance it over 10 years ( not sure if other options) so it truely makes the monthly mortgage and we pay our dues monthly relatively managable, depending on your financial situation.
