We just got back on the 7th. We usually LOVE Chef mickey's but this time it was AWFUL! Food and Character's. Tusker house was great last yr but this yr not so much. The character's where fun but the food ehh.
This yr we really liked Ohana's and Crystal Palaces. CRT was good too. We've been to all 3 before so we knew what to expect and they didn't disappoint.

My very favorite is Ohana! I love the location, festivities, family-style buffet (brought to you), and characters. But mostly... I LOVE the POG juice!!!
Second choice would have to be Tusker House at the AK. Great food selection and I love that Daisy Duck can be found here!!

Both the food and the characters at Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios were awesome. The playhouse disney characters are perhaps not the most recognizable to all generations but the kids probably recognize them better than goofy! Our kids loved it. The characters did more than just come greet the kids. They did that plus sing and dance with the kids all around the restaurant. And the food was really good.

Even though we are all pretty much adults now (last trip to Disney my youngest sister was 16) we always do at least one character breakfast because it's just something that you HAVE to do at WDW. For the past three or four trips we've done the character breakfast at O'Hana at the Polynesian and we've honestly never had a bad experience there. Any server we've had there was excellent and literally brought us ANYTHING we needed. (There are 6 of us and we have some odd requests like soda at breakfast and my brother only eats bagels.) The character interaction is pretty good although now that we are all older their attention is obviously more focused on groups with younger children. It's also convienent for our MK day. I think once we even scheduled it for the EMH day so we headed to MK, hit a few attractions and then left as the park began to fill up for breakfast and then went back.
The only other character meal I've done was 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian for dinner, so I can't say much about the breakfast selection. I was there with my friend over Spring Break while I was in college and we enjoyed it. The food exceeded my expectations (which were low since it was a buffet) and we got a kick out of flirting with Prince Charming Lol

Going to Chef Mickey's for the first time this trip. We love Crystal Palace and will be going back this trip again.

Best food. Crystal Palace. If food is most important, go here. Hands down.

I asked my daughters which breakfast they enjoyed the most from our trip in May because I was making reservations for our upcoming trip in January. They both responded without hesitation "Tusker House". They enjoyed Crystal Palace, Ohana, Chef Mickey's, Akershus(Princess Storybook Breakfast) ,and Kona Cafe(although not a character breakfast), but loved the themeing and food at Tusker House.
In January I have us booked for Boma, Chef Mickey's, Tusker House x2, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Cape May for Breakfast. Good luck!

We went to Crystal Palace and Hollywood and Vine recently. Hollywood and Vine was a really horrible experience. The waitress was actually very good, but it was loud, the food was pretty bad, and I HATE having to wait when I have a reservation. Crystal Palace was a good experience - ok food, horrible waiter, but the characters were very interactive, and the room wasn't quite as crazy. I am looking forward to the return of Liberty Tree character dining, as I think it has great food, even if it can be loud.
