So, what WDW food have you attempted (successfully or not...) to duplicate while at home?

My wife and I try to cook at least one Disney meal a week from all of the WDW cookbooks and recipes we have collected from CMs. We've successfully made a few, some not-so-much. We will be trying to re-create her favorite; the buttermilk-fried shrimp app at Narcoossee's.

Dole whip..bought the mix and a soft serve machine so it was a perfect copy.

Figaro fires...perfect copy

Flank steak from Garden grill....used a London broil but the marinade was spot on.

Macadamia pineapple pancakes....haven't quite got that one right yet.

Can't even begin to tell you, there are so many. You might want to check out our Recipe thread (stickied to the top of this forum) as it has review from members who have made their favorites at home and some even contain photos.

Lil'Mermaid is back working in the kitchen store this summer and I have my eye on that Cuisinart machine. This time when it goes on sale there will be no talking me out of it.

I love the sticky toffee pudding from Rose n Crown. It's not one of the recipes from any of their books, but I have managed to recreate it. Actually, it would be better, but the place also helps make the food.

I have made the Candian Cheddar Cheese Soup. The Chef at LeCellier gave me a copy of his recipe so it was easy to duplicate. It turned out magnificient.:slurp:

The only thing I've ever tried to make is from the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk. It's called the Triple Play turkey & brie sandwich - so good! Not hard to duplicate either. I thought ESPN Zone's would all have it on their menu, and then realized it's a totally different restaurant, so I had to make it on my own.

I've got the WDW Cookbook from the mid 80s and have wore that thing out. My favorites to 'recreate' are the chocolate chip cookies used all over property and the cream of broccoli soup.

I have made the welcome bread (Pineapple / coconut) from Ohana

It came out OK. Not exact, but pretty close. I think I overdeveloped the gluten - it was a bit more chewy than I remember it being.

We did the same!

1st attempt could have been used as industrial quality glue

I've made the Pop Century Resort's tie-dyed cheesecake on several occassions. It's always a conversation starter at parties.

I have made most of Ohana's menu. I have made the scalloped potatoes and they come out perfect, the banana's fosters bread pudding which comes out amazing and everyone loves it

i have also made their key-lime honey dressing, which is amazing. i have also taken components from that recipe to make a different dressing which is out of this world
