Why in the blue hell are they building a Terminator: Salvation roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain...and its a WOODEN roller coaster? Don't get me wrong, I actually prefer wooden coasters when they are done well, but what the hey does Terminator have to do with wood?

Nothing. While Six Flags has some of the best coasters, they don't have the best track record when it comes to theming.

I've never been to Magic Mountain, so I can't comment on it's placement.

Its going where the Psyclone used to be. That wooden coaster was damaged beyond repair by the earthquake in '94. Its good they are replacing it, but they could have built a steel coaster somewhere else this year and capitalized on the Terminator name.

I've only ever been to Six Flags over Georgia and Six Flags Magic Mountain, but yeah, they are terrible when it comes to themeing, or heck, anything besides roller coasters.

I think they just wanted to replace a woodie with a woodie and the Terminator Salvation rights were available.

Looks like a great ride, though. Gotta be better than Psyclone, the pain machine.:brick:

Admission to Magic Mountain back then should have come with six free months of chiropractor visits between Psyclone and Flashback!

Funny... Vekoma Suspended Looping Coasters (SLC's) are usually considered some of the worst rides in the biz.

For a personal experience, at an organized event at Canada's Wonderland last August, I noticed that the upstop wheels had at least an inch of space between the rail. The ride was pretty much predictable from there...

Weird, then, how Vekoma is the manufacturer of every roller coaster on WDW property except for Primeval Whirl.
