The next racearoundtheworld starts Sunday, February 15th! Roadblocks, detours, u-turns, idiots who forget to read the clue ... are all back! :sohappy:

Here are this season's contestants. They've really cut down on the number of dating couples this season, which can only mean one thing: the dating couples they did allow in will be going at each other pretty good from the get-go (I'm looking at you, Jennifer and Preston).

Man, we are so hooked on this show now!

Our 16 year old daughter is watching with us this season (she's looking for the hot guys!), and as soon as they introduced the teams, she said for us to each pick a team on the spot and follow them through the season. She picked the Asian bro/sis attorney team, my wife picked the mom and deaf son, and I picked the flight attendant team--and almost lost out when they finished 10th.

Excellent beginning that the deaf son and mom won that leg of the race! :sohappy:

And, that bungee jump....no way.

I am surprised that the stunt dudes didn't do better. Didn't they make it to the bungee jump first, but then they jumped second??

& you have to love the "Hicks from the Sticks." He really out-smarted everyone in the cheese race.

Not old, just vintage.
I really enjoyed last nights episode. I think the right couple definitely got cut. They were overwhelmingly annoying. I predict the 'hicks from the sticks' have maybe one or two more episodes in them.

I thought they were the second team to arrive for the jump.

I'm wondering why the "hick" team even participated. He's on her all the time about how slow she is and how it's her fault that they were "in last place again".

Last night was awesome, one of the best first episodes ever. I wonder how the deaf son will do on roadblock tasks where he might have to go out on his own.

The Swiss locals had as much fun watching the cheese wheels roll down the hill as the Russion locals had last season watching that geek try to march.

It was cool that Phil learned how to sign "You are team number 1!"

I don't have any favorites or dislikes just yet, though I have an eye on Mr. Hick for the latter category.

Great tasks this episode. My wife and I argued over which one of us would've gotten to do the hang gliding Roadblock were we actually on the show. That must have been quite the experience for Mel. The pie throwing was pretty funny, but we would've chosen the Segway Detour, for sure.

I wasn't surprised to see the hicks eliminated, but I was surprised to see her breakdown. How did these two pass the psych screening? I know the producers want drama, but usually that involves more petty bickering than anything else.

I like the jazzier graphics of the globe in the intro this season, but the industrial version of the theme music is a downgrade.

I don't know how those two got through. He seemed way into the show more than she did. Speaking of breakdowns, he couldn't control himself when they got eliminated.

It was too bad to see Mike & Mel go. They were fun racers, but I'm afraid with Mel's age, they were pretty well doomed from the start. None of the other philiminated racers did much for me.

As for those remaining, I like Kisha & Jen and Margie & Luke. I thought Mark & Michael were good racers until they racked up two 30 minute penalties in the last leg. Pretty sloppy. Tammy is semi-normal, but Victor is really annoying. Jaime & Cara are sometimes funny, but mostly nasty. Jaime's the hottest contestant left, though, so I hope they at least make it to the finale ... then lose.

As Mark and Michael were running to the mat at the end of Sunday's ep. I said to my son that they're the perfect "first to worst" team. Little did I know that because of their two penalties it almost happened in the same episode. Those two just make too many mistakes to win. They don't read clues and when they do read them they have trouble figuring it out. I like them and hope they can pull it together.

Jamie is the hottest one left.

I too was sad to hear (since my DVR didn't record the whole episode...:fork:) That Mike and Mel had gone. I really liked them and was pulling for them to succeed...but, hey, I think they did succeed, since they weren't cast off, right off the bat, too. :)

I like the girls, Jamie and Cara and I like Margie and Luke. I really don't care for Victor either though...I don't know what it is about his personality, but it grates on me.

Are these two the most penalized team in the history of TAR? Did they change the rules about bartering goods for services? Last season, didn't the frat boys give a cab driver their shoes?
