First off, Happy Thanksgiving!

Later today I will be doing another part to my update which can be found HERE. But today I want to talk about Primeval Whirl.

During Extra Magic Hours at Animal Kingdom, Primeval Whirl was open! Though only a little while before I got on they had people on the track working on the ride still. :lookaroun The person out front said that they were open for about an hour earlier in the day, but then re-opened for the EMH.

I don't remember what the old physical appearance looked like (or if they changed anything) so I have a few pictures which can be found HERE.

What's changed:

(I didn't really know the ride well, but this is what I think is different)

-Braking system is completely re-done. If you are to close to another car in front of you sometimes it will automatically stop you... which hurts if you aren't expecting it!

-Seems the control system has been changed. There is three different stations with stop/go controls. Saw a lot of technicians by the controls.

-Control system was not exactly working for the exit guy, so he had to manually release the lap bars and rotate the vehicles. (occasionally)

-Appears that they polished the cars to look brand new.

-Quite a few more supports. They even cut through some signs to add supports.

-Track itself is not any different. Not in shape, size, form, anything.

-Not sure if this is new, but they are now sending cars off one at a time from the controls.

Like I said, never been an expert on this ride so some other things may have changed. Another part of my updates will come possibly later today. Only will be a small update.

Have a happy thanksgiving,

I had the pleasure of riding it tonight for the first time in over 3 months. I must say that it seemed smoother than the last time I experienced the attraction. No sudden jerks or anything. Although, it did seem a bit on the slow side.

Great to have PW back! :)
