Thank you to all the new posters! All of them are great, but I've gotta say the Rafiki is particularly amazing! You must have incredible talent and patience. I also love the pose, hehe. The pride rock with built-in CD player is brilliant.

I'll be sure to post pictures of mine when it eventually gets done ;) Right now I have the apron pinned and ready to sew, then I need to cut out the dress pattern. I'm new to this pattern this (and pretty new to sewing in general) so it's been....an experience.

I got an email from Disneyshopping.com that the Halloween shop has opened. They want $80 for some of the costumes! So far, the supplies for my Alice costume have come to under $20. Though the cost of my medical bills from sewing machine injuries may add up to more than $80! :hammer:

The Aftermath: Looking not-so-fresh after the deluge of the September 14th party last year. The makeup was the highlight before the flood came. But the entire costume reacted to black light. So when we walked through Tomorrowland I was like a beacon and everyone watched!

In our pre-digital camera days, I made fun family costumes for us... my 7yo son was Peter Pan, my 9yo daughter was Tinkerbell, husband was Capt. Hook, and I (being 7 months pregnant) was Mr. Smee! We looked awesome! I'll see if I can find a pic to scan in. :)

The year after my 3rd child was born, my son was all hot for us to be the Incredibles, as we had the perfect family composition (except our 3rd was a girl... but no hair, so Jack-Jack would've been fine). However, there was absolutely NO WAY I was appearing in public in spandex! LOL! I loved his very innocent, "Why not, Mom?" Ha!

Wow! All of these costumes are great. Wish I could do something like that. I do well to patch a pair of jeans.
We are going to MNSSHP for the first time but without costumes, think we will do a shirt and pirate ears or something.

How?

We got the same pass and it says "Since the weather wouldn't cooperate with us tonight, we'd like to invite you back to the Magic Kingdom Park during regular Park operating hours. Please retain tonight's special event ticket, and present it at a Magic Kingdom Turnstile on another day to gain admission into the park... Tickets are ONLY valid at the Magic Kingdom Park and are NOT valid for any special event or during holiday periods."

So how did you get to use them to go back for another party? If it works then I want to go to another one before they expire.

My Alice costume from last year. My bf was the Mad Hatter, but I think he'd kill me if I posted the picture of him on here---but his costume rocked also. I made both of them.

(see my user name---) I obviously love to sew, and have made all of my costumes since I learned how to sew (and my mom made them before it). I have a very intensive Mickey costume I made a few years ago---pre digital camera, so I'll have to find and scan a picture of it---its soo cool!

This year I think I'm going to me a Mouseketeer, but we'll see.

I'd love to see the finished product of the doom buggy costume!

Sew, I LOVE your Alice! The lace on the apron especially. Mine will just be sorta boring and basic but I'm still pretty excited. I wish I was better at sewing!

Thanks! The lace on the top of the apron was a last minute addtion, and the lace on the bottom is actually part of the fabric. I bought eyelet with an embroidered scalloped bottom. If you can find fabric like that and line the pattern up with the edge, then the fabric does the work for you!

I'm no good at sewing, but fortunately my mom is. She's made most of my Halloween costumes since I was a little kid. Of course her most recent work is my Peter Pan costume for last May's Pirate and Princess Party:

I'll be wearing this again in October for MNSSHP.

She's also made Prince Phillip and Merryweather for me and my sister:

The sword is from Pirates of the Caribbean and the magic wand is from the Main Street Magic Shop.

She's also made Robin Hood/Peter Pan (It's Robin Hood in this photo and note the recycled Prince Phillip hat XD) and Pocahontas:

These aren't Disney, but here's a wizard and a butterfly:

Wow these costumes are great!

I've got to dig up some of mine as I've done 'Nacho Libre', Nightcrawler (x-men) and this year I'm going to be Tony Stark aka Iron Man

I was debating about doing a disney character for my MNNSHP but am not sure if i have enough time.

oh and keep us updated about the doombuggy! sooooo coool!

These pictures are great--thanks for sharing them all!! My most recent memorable costume that I made was when I was a giant pink flamingo!! It was silly and funny and my DD still remembers it to this day!! :p

We gave them our MNSSHP tickets from the nite it Rained and they told us we could use them towards the party the following Friday if we choose to....We were surprised as well....We did'nt find out we could do this till the following day talking to some people at one of the water parks about the MNSSHP being rained out....So we really had them to thank!!
