Hand and Wand to come down?

I was just in Orlando last weekend tying up some loose ends before I move down there, and I had a chance to visit the parks. Well...while leaving Epcot on Saturday, I spoke to a security cm who informed me that in the next few weeks, the hand and wand would be coming down. He didn't say for how long, but hey...its a rumor.


p.s. before anyone says ANYTHING about how I shouldn't listen to everything castmembers say, keep in mind I am a CM, and sometimes late shift security are usually the ones you can believe.We'll see though...A guy can hope right?

Finally. Concrete proof there IS a God....(if its true, it would be wonderful!) Probably just taking it down to make it bigger with some Siemens ad flashing on it!!

I'm sorry, but this wand is the topic of WAY too much discussion on these boards. It's to the point where we should just have a sticky regarding the stupid wand so all the haters and wand fanboys can debate until the wee hours of the morning.

yeah...never said anything about hating or liking it...just said it might be coming down

Well, here's hoping for the end of the wand. Perhaps with the Spaceship Earth renovations there is finally truth to this rumor.

Interesting...thanks for the rumor. I hope it is true. I mean if they want something like the wand...then redesign it and make it "fit" better. :shrug:

Then we should probably have another sticky that says, "If you don't want to read the posts about the Wand, then DON'T."

But if you don't want to talk about the wand yourself, why even open this thread, since you must have known exactly what the title refers to...and then having opened it, why bother to post? It's like going to a Starbucks and ordering a latte then complaining there are too many coffee houses.

And back on-topic...I've really got to the point where I think the wand will be there forever, so I'm dubious. But hey, the Berlin Wall coming down was a surprise too, so never give up hope...

That's why I figure, if we have to keep it, then why not redesign the thing to fit Epcot's theme...whatever that is....:lookaroun

Epcot has a theme? I thought they did away with that during their '90's "upgrading" of the park.
