The pictures so far are fantastic. This is a great idea. Thanks for organizing Speck.

I had a hard time deciding and ended up with this one...

Best I've got only because its different. Need to get some more Tomorrowland photos, seems to be a lack of them around. It looks stunning at night. (But SM sure does need a clean).

The search for a photo for this weeks contest reminded that I need to be taking more photos in that section of the park. Here's one from Disneyland instead.

but anyone that wants to let me know of a good camera/shooting tips would be welcome :)

that's a loaded question! It's all about the practice. I've taken thousands of pictures and still have a HUGE amount to learn. One tip for a beginner... get a good digital camera that has manual settings and start popping pictures and try to figure out what makes the good ones good. It's has a lot more to do with the composition than the equipment.

Take a look at the photo galleries and figure out what makes a good picture look good. Many times it's the composition and lighting. Here's a good book that PhotoDave suggested.

My camera is a Panasonic FZ3.....3.2 megapixal with a 12x optical zoom. The picture was taken on the small bridge that runs from the area near the Adventureland entrance to the back of the Christmas Shop in Liberty Square.....I used a pocket tripod for stability. I was having problems with the Hub lights getting in the way, so I took the picture right after the lights were turned off for Spectromagic.

How bulky/heavy/difficult to carry is a pocket tripod? I've been sorta playing with the idea of purchasing some sort of tripod to try for some better night shots, but had always put that idea aside based on not wanting to carry it all day. Occasionally I get a decent night shot, but most often they end up a little blurry because I can't hold the camera still enough.

I carry a pocket tripod with me....fits perfectly into my pocket....not heavy at all.

The pocket tripod is 3" tall.....it can fit in my case, or in my pocket, and works fine. I also have a tabletop tripod, but it folds up enough that it is not bad to carry.
