What exactly is Pete's Silly Sideshow?

That is a good question. I have read a lot of speculation from a meet and greet to a themed store, but so far no one has come forward with any real info on this section of the FLE.

I think this is still a mystery. One thing we did hear was one of the imagineers at D23 said that it wouldn't open until eary 2013. You can see that interview here:

I would think that if it was a simple meet and greet that it would open much earlier, but I might be reading to much into that opening date.

It would be great to see classic charecters! Rescue Rangers, Goofy's son Max, Donald's nephews, it could be endless. The big question is does Disney World costuming still have the costumes and what kind of shape are they in? Would like to see some of the older costumed charecter's make rare appearences like the old Winnie the Pooh.

They can make new ones.

My guess is that its going to be a more elaborate M&G with interactive elements similar to the chateau concept that was replaced by the mine coaster. Probably not as elaborate but we can see they are trying to upgrade the M&G experience. This would also make sense for the 2013 opening date since they would have to come up with a show and train performers and stuff.

I would seriously doubt that the costumes would be discarded. They would probably need some refurbishing to be "show-ready" but that wouldn't take too long.

Actually, I think they said something like this: "We can expect see half of Storybook Circus open in 2012, with the rest making its debut in 2013." But they didn't mention exactly which half nor what was in that half. Dumbo is humming along already, although I have no idea about the status on Goofy.

What is exactly going on with Pete's Silly Sideshow? That is, what is it going to be about?

The main tent is being called Sideshow Souvenirs, with the smaller tent being the meet & Greet tent. Currently, there is no word on who exactly will be occupying the two rooms in the M&G tent, but there will not be a show at this point.

Correction: the store is going to be called BIG TOP Souvenirs, not Sideshow Souvenirs.

And some of the characters that are rumored to be appearing at Pete's Silly Sideshow (the meet-and-greet area) are Pete, Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, the 3 Little Pigs and Goofy.

Names can always change, but that's not the official name being used on my side

I'll just leave these laying around here....
(Both sets of plans are dated 11/12/10, so who knows? But, I do hear Sideshow used more often.)
