If I'm not mistaken, the chateau would have been much larger.
Not by much, unless you add the Aurora wing.

Yup, I was under the impression that they were the same building.
As a post-script, I took a good look at the blueprints and the Chateau/Aurora building is much smaller than I thought. It makes poor use of the land its on...you could fit at least three other Chateau-shaped buildings on that plot of land if it wasn't for the gardens around it.

Ahhhhh, nothing like getting a good rebooting.
Anyway, I agree, the artwork plus other information made it seem as though the chateau and mill were part of the same complex. Reminding me very much of the Philharmagic/PPF/HoP complex. The little red outline in the pic above is only marginally accurate. They are definitely digging some sort of foundation.

The changes are substantial.JustInTime said:I am pretty sure the plans aren't even going to change that much anyway.
The changes are substantial.
Yes, it was going to be one show building, with a different facade on two sides.
The changes are substantial.
Just a thought... If there isn't a solid plan there just yet, it would stand to reason that they won't start construction there for some time. If plans in the surrounding areas were more finalized, it could be what was the Chateau's footprint is currently a storage/staging area, hence "dirt mountain" and the collection of piping.
The way the stuff's all laid out there reminds me of a model kit, all the pieces organized and ready for assembly.
It would be an awkward spot if LM and others open up and it's still not finished, though I could see walls herding us around the area, especially after seeing the "Pooh Tunnel."
I would like to think they really want to have it open for the 40th. Time is a ticking, but it is still possible.
I looked at a bunch of the pics of DCAs LM and it looks like ours is equivalent to DCA around the beginning of April. If they keep the same pace, we should have a substantial amount of building by the end of the year. We are only about 4 mos behind them.
Hopefully that means we could see the ride be close to finish/testing next fall right about the 40th.
I compared the overhead to this http://www.westcoaster.net/images/updates/032910/032910-dca059-sm.jpg
That pic is from 3-29-10 and our foundation looks somewhat similar.

I kinda suspect that Project X will require a somewhat shorter build time than the rest of FLE west...
You are correct sir...
Nothing negative, if I'm looking at it correctly.Does the short build time indicate anything about the scope/quality of the attraction?

(And no, by looking I don't mean looking...)
Can you elaborate on any of the scuttlebutt being thrown around for the mystery attraction? Is anything pointing to a Snow White-themed ride?
There has always been things pointing towards Snow White. Still is. I still don't know for sure. But I'm getting closer.
Stay tuned...
