For the umpteenth time, it is NOT on property.

The area was de-annexed from Reedy Creek for the project to happen. You just have to drive on Disney owned roads to get there.

It is no more on property than Bonnet Creek or Celebration.

And here is the extent of what they sold out to build:

i think its a perfect example of disney catering to their fans. If this is successful, how can they not build more? Possibly a value edition?

Maybe this is what they truly plan to do as an answer to walt's vision of epcot, how it was to be a working society for the elite.

I guarentee you 99.8% of disney fans cannot even come close to affording these places. Talk about alienating the fans.

Jimmy thick- its the real disney!

walt's vision of epcot was not a society for the elite.

Funny, the picture on the website looks like its on property.
Well that`s misleading advertising for you.

If it were on property, they would have the same problems Disney faced with E.P.C.O.T. and later Celebration - voting rights. Permenant residents would get a say in anything from where a new road should be built to what colour to paint the castle. If the voting majority said purple, it would be painted purple.

The land has been de-annexed, as I said above, from the RCID to prevent such a problem arising. This means Disney no longer own it. So it not on property.

For me, WDW is the place where I can leave it all behind. Once I go through those magical gates, I leave all the stress of "real life" on the other side. That's the advantage WDW has over DL. If I lived there, then the stress of everyday life would cross those boundaries. If that happened, much of the magic would be gone. I would NEVER want that.

Well said. I think the "idea" of it would be neat, but we all need the balance of work and play in our lives. Moving into the castle would pretty much remove the magic.

I'd try it for a month just for good measure. ;)

I think I would consider it if I was retirement age and didn't want to fly, or couldn't fly, or whatever....

But, in all honesty, I just can't imagine spending that kind of money on a home. Then again, I don't have that kind of money so it sounds a bit obscene to my modest lifestyle.

To be honest, its way too close to not be consider on property, the technical nuts and bolts mean nothing compared to the fact its a little south of the Magic Kingdom, and a little north of Epcot, which means Iam sure I have a great idea where its located.

Technically, sure its not on property, realistically, its right in the heart of the resort, and only a select few will be able to actually live there.

Jimmy Thick- Apples for apples? Stick them in a bag and I will eat them later.

Try buying a home in California, where a small one room chalet can fetch a million dollars.

Jimmy Thick- Its not always about money...

I must admit the pictures on the website look good. Beautiful homes.

I am going to buy me one. $1.5 million is pocketchange for me anyway and I'll be rid of all you paupers that infest the parks and

no I won't I need to work for my money to have two weeks of good time in Disney so once there I'm in no mood to be a second class customer. Disney shouldn't go the way of platinum fastpasses, private perks, reserved vip seats etc while the working people are herded together in the back. Gated millionaire communities are towing the line of what's acceptable.

I guess the upside is that we will be able to rent them from the owners. I could see renting one for a week or so, or even a romantic escape for a weekend.

Just as sure as DVC members have to quick sell units for financial reasons in places as new as Bay Lake - access will be attainable even in this upscale setting. Currently I can purchase 5 nights in a studio (sleeps 4) in Bay Lake for $750 and pick which week i want between Jan-April - deals are always out there.

At the end of the day, its tough to beat The Grand Floridian for reasons like atmosphere, food, shops - not to mention the monorail. Even the rich will have to ride, park and walk from Golden Oaks or take the bus.

Like everything in most walks of life this will have positive and negative impacts on Disney...hopefully more positive.

Think they'll have a "Club 33"? ;)

We could form a corporation and buy one unit - 10 investors = 5 weeks a year per person for life. I do wonder what a $2 million dollar range home in this niche will sell for in a decade.

So bc the guy can afford the house he is flaunting his money? Some of you need to get a grip:hammer:

It's more than that. The guy is a narcissistic attention freak. Just look at the last option of EVERY poll he posts and his signature.
