Hello my wife has decide she would like to try and split our trip up between POP and CBR resorts. She was thinking about CSR but was told our kids would enjoy CBR better. Our Question is if we split our resorts up will our tickets price still stay the same we are planning on staying for 10 days and the more days you stay the cheaper your tickets are, we weren't sure if would have to pay for two 5 day pacakges:shrug::shrug:. If you could be any help we sure would appreaciate it. Thanks:sohappy:

I'm not 100% sure how the Package system works with Disney BUT you're paying for 10 days accomodation with the corresponding 10 days of MYW tickets - you will not need to purchase two lots of park tickets if you choose to split your accomodation. The only price increase is due to you upgrading resorts

I'm not 100% sure either but when we split our stay between two resorts, we booked our tickets seperately which covered the whole length of the trip. This way, the resort we stayed at didn't make a difference.

A couple of things worth knowing though:
  1. You can't use the DDP if you are splitting your trip.
  2. When making ADR's, you will need reservation numbers for both bookings to ensure you can make an ADR on the right day
  3. The actual process of switching is very easy. We left out bags with Bell services and they were taken straight to our second hotel whilst we enjoyed the parks.

There are a couple pot holes to splitting your stay up but there are workarounds for nearly all of them.As you might have guessed you will need 2 separate reservation.

Scenario 1 No DDP.

For the first package you will want to get 10 day tickets. You second reservation will simply be a room only reservation. This will save you a considerable amount of money over booking 2 5 day packages.

Scenario 2 Using the DDP.

As before you will want to get 10 day tickets. For your second package you will need to get at least a one day ticket to get the DDP. Hold onto this ticket and upgrade it on a future trip.

Dining.
You will have to make two separate sets of ADR's as you will have 2 90' days out dates. No way to get around this one.

For resort choice the kids will more than likely enjoy CBR a little better CS. Disney is gradually changing CS into being a much more adult/convention style resort. The decor, amenities, menus, etc are becoming much less kid oriented. CBR on the other hand seems to becoming more kid friendly with the recent Nemo at PotC themed refurbs to the rooms.

If you would like to send me you travel information I will be more than happy to put a quote together for you.

i just did this with my 10 day trip in oct. i wanted to spend time at grand floridian and animal kingdom, but i also wanted the free dining plan. i got two separate packages, bought a five day pass with the first one, did have to buy a one day pass to go along with the second package, but was told that i can take both tickets to concierge, and they will combine the admission media and charge me only the difference between the value of the two tickets and the 10 day pass we need. i called booking directly, it was easy as pie, don't be afraid.

We just did POP and SSR in June, for our stay at POP we didn't book it as a package, but SSR was. So, when we arrived at POP we were able to get our package/park tickets released at Guest Service in DTD and we then upgraded them to accomodate the number of days we needed. A tip however - we had a one day base ticket with the package, it seemed to work to our advantage.
