All I have to say is that I give a big, resounding YES to the question asked in the title of this thread.
Over three years after the release of Kingdom Hearts II {which sets the standard pretty high for all sequels} it seems that the Disney/Square combination knows what they're doing in creating more games for the Kingdom Hearts series.
Their new goal to tackle this time? A new platform of gameplay to fit the times - The Nintendo DS.
And might I say that Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days looks like it will be utilizing the DS magnificently. The story follows the time in between the creation of Roxas after the first Kingdom Hearts game up to his time in digital Twilight Town in the second game. It also shows a new fourteenth member of Organization XIII, a girl named Xion with unexplained connections to Sora himself (she looks a lot like Kairi to me).
All members of Organization XIII will be playable (YES!!) and the game will also feature DS Wireless play with friends, so that you can go on multi-player missions.
The game has already been released in Japan, but will hit the shelves in North America 29 September of this year.
I, for one, already have my copy pre-ordered and taken care of at my local GameStop (along with Final Fantasy Dissidia, but that's much less related to this site).
A new trailer was released during E3 a few weeks ago which really illustrates the gameplay, as well as a bit of the story - and also features Utada Hikaru once again ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jreUl6er1oY
On another note - Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is also in the making between Disney and Square, and will be released for PSP sometime in the future with a story showing a prequel before the events of the first Kingdom Hearts.
PS :: If you already know spoiler details about the game please do not post them. I, for one, like to be surprised about my games when I play them.
