'09 Rates???

Hi everybody! I have a couple of Questions. Hope someone will be able to help! You guys are so smart when it comes to these things!

1.) In general, how far in advance do they post the upcoming years rates? (We are looking to book a trip for November of 2009 for the BEach Club :sohappy:and want to book ASAP)

2.) Is it true you can make your reservations as soon as they post that years rates?

3.)I was checking on the official WDW website using the '08 rates just to get a rough idea of what it would cost. We are looking to stay at the Beach Club. Can anyone explain why its cheaper to stay in a Beach Club Studio Villa than it is to stay in a standard regular Beach Club Room:shrug:? Seems like you get better amenities in the Villas yet it's cheaper???

4.) When you make your reservation I know they require a deposit and then the balance is due like 45 days before your trip. My question is- Is the deposit a percentage of your total vacation cost or is it a "Flat Rate" say like $200?

Thanks so much!

Hi  The simple answers are:

1. New rates (ie. 2009) will come out in August of 2008.

2. No, you can book a room-only NOW, based on 2008 rates!

3. I am not absolutely sure about this one, but I believe the rates between the studio villa and the regular resort room are based on the actual dates. When I was pricing out my own vacation, the villa rates didn't tend to change with the rate seasons, but of course, the resort rooms did.

4. If you book room-only, the deposit is equal to one night's stay. Once the 2009 rates are released, you can change/add to a package and pay the difference in the deposit ($200 for packages without air, I believe).

Hope this helps!

1) They will post rates for 2009 in August of 2008.

2) You can make hotel reservations 499 days out from the day of your expected check in. For example we will be checking in on June 2, 2009 therefore we can start our reservation process on Jan 20th 2008.

3) I can't speak to the rates of the villas compared to the rooms, but I did compare 07 rates to 08 rates for the hotel we will be staying at (deluxe). There was a roughly 4% increase in the cost. Although this is no gaurantee that this will be the same for 09, it did give me a better idea what I may be paying in 09.

4) The deposit depends on what you book. If you are booking room-only I think the deposit is equal to one nights stay with the rest due at check in. If you are booking a package (thru Disney) than the deposit is a flat $200. So even though I will be booking in Jan of 08, long before new rates come out, I will still only need to pay the $200 fee. The rest will be due 45 days from my expected check in day. I also won't have a set cost at the time of my booking. From what I've been told I will be given a price quote based on 08 rates but then in August the final price quote will be given.

Generally, the rate for a Studio at Disney's Beach Club Villas is the same as the rate for a Standard Room at Disney Beach Club Resort. However, there are differences in our date based pricing system between Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas. The Deluxe Villas do not charge a premium on weekends (Fri, Sat) or holidays, were the Deluxe Resorts do on select dates.

2009 room rates are expected to be released sometime in Aug/Sept 2008. Once rates are finalized 2009 packages will be released shortly thereafter.

Currently you can book by phone a room-only reservation up to 499 days prior to your check-out date to guarantee availability but your room rate will not be guaranteed for any 2009 dates. You will be required to pay a deposit equal to the first night's lodging with tax based on the 2008 rates. Once the new rates are released you will receive a new confirmation stating the new total room cost.

Once 2009 vacation packages are released you can modify over to a package, but your room-only deposit cannot be transferred to the package. You will then pay a new deposit of $200 and will receive a full refund of your room-only deposit.

OMG! God for the villa! If it's cheaper and you dont really need the second bed, take it and run!

Now, if you need that bed, seriously consider if you want that pullout or what have you.

Since this is not what I've been told by the Disney Reservation line, I wanted to find out.

The reservation can be made (at least at the hotels) from the day of check-in. The rep I talked to didn't even know this one and had to go check with her supervisor. I'm hoping that this is correct information.

The part about the room-only is correct. Not what we have been told by more than one Disney rep prior to this. So, at least in our case, the money we will need to have available is going to be more than the $200 we expected.

Thanks VonDrake for shedding a little light on something that even Disney reps can't seem to get right
