I saw the preview for the Return to Halloweentown coming out. I have just one question. Who is the main girl supposed to be? It isn't Marny (or whatever her name is) and I don't think that it is supposed to be her little sister. Does anybody know who it is supposed to be?

The main girl in the previews is Marni. However, unlike in the last three installments, she is being played by Sara Paxton (of Aquamarine).

It seems like a silly decision, I wonder what happened to the original Marni.

I just checked over at IMDB, and it says that the main character is still Marnie... but now played by another actress :brick:
The only characters who are the same are Marnie's brother, mother, and grandmother I think. It's a shame, her sister doesn't even have a tiny cameo like in the third movie.

Thanks for the feedback! I don't think that they did a very good job picking somebody to play Marnie now but oh well. Sorry if this is a bad question, but does the girl playing Marnie now remind anybody of Heidi from So You Think You Can Dance? Just wondering. I think that her face is similar to Heidi's.

I think Marnie is the girl from the show Gilmore Girls.

By the way, what is the official name of the movie? In the recent Disney Adventures magazine issue, it refers to it by two names. Return to Halloweentown in an advertisement, and in the calendar and the High School Musical update, it is called Halloweentown 4: Witch U. Which one is it? :veryconfu

I think that the real name for the movie is Return to Halloweentown (that is what is says on all of the previews for the movie on Disney Channel).

The advertisement for the movie in the Disney Adventures magazine does say Return to Halloweentown. However if it was Halloweentown 4: Witch U, it would fit with the theme since the last movie was Halloweentown High.

But the Disney Adventures could be wrong. The name might have been changed last minute. Maybe they didn't want to have "Witch" in the name because of parents complaining...I don't know. I might have gotten it wrong in the magazine because on the updates of High School musical, it shows the names of the people and the new projects they are doing, and they have the name Vanessa (I guess it means Vannessa Anne Hudgens who played Gabriel) and says she is working on an album that will come out very shortly, but the picture is of another girl, unless her name is Vanessa too.:veryconfu

But the previews actually make the new Halloweentown movie, what ever it is called:lol: , look very promising and exciting! :D

It's Marnie (I too is bad with the names) the youngest of the 3 children is going to be a early graduate(smarty pants) as it will be in the opening scene of the movie. the middle age of the children "Marnie" is more or less the main character this time around. and the older character of course. lets see who else did I remember on set oh I also saw debbie reynolds i think thats her real name the older lady. I know they start up the movie with the High School Graduation, then there's a shopping scene. they shot quite a bit of scenens in Utah HA! I should know heck! I was a Extra for the film a couple times and I actually got to talk to krap! whats that older persons name? oh well. I talked to him and chatted with the ogre person as well. I just got to say good work lots of $$$$$ put into films now a days

I was a Extra in Return To HalloweenTown

IN the upcoming film Halloweentown: witch University (the original title) which has changed to "Return to halloweentown" or alot will be just refering it as "halloweentown 4" just to keep things simple. now in the film all actors are the original actors except the youngest of the 3 children. There will/may be the opening scene as thier High School Graduation. which was filmed in Utah at some kind of Catholic High School. mostly outdoor shots thier and they did one special effect with the youngest of the 3 children where her grad. hat is tossed in the air and stays in the air and twirls for a bit. then alot of the "outdoor" college scenes was filmed in downtown SLC UT which was a gov. building. they were filming one part of the scene where it was @ night as the big top wizards were making some announcement. (the exploding scene in the preview) that took at lease 4hrs which means to us extras 4hrs of sleep on the grass. I can go on with many different scenes shot in Utah that will be in the movie I was in 3 of the scenes which I hope to see myself hehe. well dont want to ruin the movie too much. any other Q?'s let me know/ email me

Well UTactor, welcome to the boards. If you truly were an extra, that is very cool. Could you yet us know what scene you were in and if you were seen in the movie when it was released October 20th? How did you become an extra?

I'm a little confused by what you were saying though. You kind of repeated the same info multiple times, and changed it a little each time. Isn't Marnie the oldest sister, and I believe the oldest of the 3 children? There was the younger brother who is also in it, and the youngest sister, who I don't know if she is in it or not. I think it is just a new actress, the girl from the "Gilmore Girls," I forgot her real name but she is pretty big, is playing the Marnie character, not the girl who was in the last three and in the other Disney Channel Original Movie, "Quints."

Are you talking about Alexis Bledel? That isn't her in the new movies (she is the one from Gilmore Girls).

Here's the plot of Halloweentown 4 from IMDB.com (Internet Movie Data Base):

Halloweentown: Witch U. is the fourth installment in the Disney Channel network's popular Halloweentown movie franchise. This movie will take place at Witch University; also known as Witch U. And will mainly be based on Marnie Piper attendance at Witch University. With the help of her friend Aneesa (Summer Bishil) they manage to foil trouble. It's a Disney Channel Original Movie otherwise known as a DCOM. This movie will be directed by David Jackson and is not a musical.

It also says the Halloweentown 4: Witch U was the working title.

I tried to find out who plays Marnie, but oddly enough, it only lists Anessa and the other minor characters but it does not list the actress who played the main character. :veryconfu

Hey just thought I would let you know...Alexis Bledel is the girl on Gilmore Girls (I love this show and watch it faithfully). She is NOT playing Marnie...Sara Paxton from Aquamarine is. The last three Halloweentown movies lead character Marnie was played by Kimberly J. Brown. I'm not sure why they chose to change the lead after three movies, but they did. Oh well! Marnie is the eldest of three kids followed by a younger brother then a younger sister. The grandmother played by Debbie Reynolds is remaining the same.

I'm glad that Debbie Reynolds is back... I loved Singin' in the Rain! Thanks for the information! Also, welcome to the forums!
