I just got back from our trip and I saw alot of cast members riding the rides with familes and it seemed like they got fastpassed onto every ride. Is this a new program they started or something. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Took the keys to the kingdom tour once.. our tour guide came on jungle cruise.. dont remember him coming on pirates though.. and he may have joined us on HM, but I don't remember... So, it is probably a tour you saw... Was the CM wearing a blue uniform? Plaid like? Was it a female CM wearling a blue plaid skirt and a blue cap?

any idea of how much or where i can get some info on it. Thats what i figured it was, but i had never seen any info on it before. No they were wearing red and i remeber seeing them on Splash, BTMR, space, phillarmagic, and small world off the top of my head, but i do remember seeing them at other parks and thinkin how miserable they must be in those outfits since the temps were in the 90's

The site doesn't say how many people can go on the tour. Is that price per person, or for the tour guide?

^That price should be for just the tour guide. I know there is a limit of guests to tour guide ratio, where you have to get a second tour guide, but I cannot remember where I read that.

With FastPass in service, the only reason you would really need a VIP tour guide is if you are so famous that waiting in any sort of line would get you mobbed. I imagine that non-famous rich people would balk at having some stranger walk with their family through an amusement park.

I saw a guide sitting and eating with a family at Marrakesh, and it was a bit weird because the dad in the family spent more time chatting it up with the guide than with his family, who were eating their food silently like spectators.

Tour Guides can drive you around and overall talk about pretty much any attraction/show at the park. To some of us, it would be old news, but for some folks who have an interest but not an obsession it would be fascinating.

But to answer the second part of the question, yes, CMs might give fellow CMs fastpasses (or allow in fastpass line) if they are 'playing' in the park. How often might this happen? Maybe a couple times a day, if any. Please don't complain, it's just a very small perk for folks who don't earn a lot while they work.

To add to that,
not while in costume.

Family Magic Tour

Hi All. I'm new to WDWMagic and this thread caught my eye.

The VIP treatmentsounds great but the price??? You should look into Family Magic Tours, don't have a link but I'm sure it's on the Disney site. And far as I remember it's $25.00 a person, starts at 10 am in MK. The groups are limited to 18, and I'm not sure how long it lasts, maybe two hours? Basically you go on a "scavenger hunt" led by a CM. Once you've gathered all the clues, you are greeted by a surprise character, who then goes on a ride with the group. Of course there's time for pitures and autographs - a friend of ours who just got back said the character interaction alone is worth the price. Apparently while the character is with your group they will not stop to visit with other guests (don't know if this is true or not, this is what our friend said). We will be doing this tour when we go in September - I can't wait!!
