Disney, city, town.....

FYI
There is another book about Celebration:
"Celebration U.S.A., Living in Disney's Brave New Town"
by Douglas Frantz and Catherine Collins.
I was there 3 weeks ago looking at homes. By this time next year I hope to be a resident.
By the way, it is on Disney property, on land that was deemed unsuitable for a new park, and next to a huge Disney wildlife preserve.

when u purchase a home in celebration-you do actually own your land(of course once the loan is paid off)-i have a freind that has a village size-coastal home thier-i spent the weekend there and its awsome!disney really only owns downtown, the golf course, and the land where the office buildings are but the residents own their own land-it was really neat to be there-if anyone ever watches the x-files there was an episode where mulder and scully have to pretend to be married and live in this new community to find out about a death-it reminds me of celebration-god help u if u leave your garbage can out in you r driveway or let your mail box get rusty-youll be burned at the stake-lol

Actually that's not that expensive. Considering my apartment for next year is a two bedroom for 2200. 1200 sounds like a god send to me lol.

actually no-the stores are seperate companies and believe it or not there is no disney related stores anywhere in celebration-the only disney cast members are at WDI,disney cruiseline ,and celebration reality-all have office there-disney does real well at keeping celebration(non-disney)

except the entire community is in the shape of mickey mouse-j/k:D :D

I believe you may own your house but the land your house is built on is never yours. If Disney decides to built something new on that land... they could do it. Remember that's Disney owned property i don't ;think they would want to sell their land to anyone. This was told to me from very high people in the Disney Company. Hopefully they didn't lie to me...lol!:hammer:

i think they lied or just maybe didnt have all the facts-i called my buddy who lives there in a village size-coastal style home-heres the deal on the land ownership issue-disney does own the land in downtown, the celebration golfcourse, and all the areas where there are office buildings and the land fla health hospital is on.at first of course disney owned all the land but then set up celebration community developement district into place in which residents did in fact buy the land where their homes are from the district so in fact if u do buy a home there you do in fact own your own land-not disney-the residents form a group called the celebration residential owners assc.they pay fees to this organization for upkeep of public areas liek sidewalks and parks.

my freinds exact quote "hell for 450k i better own my own land"-lol

$450 a month is nothing. in NYC, you can't find ANYTHING at all for under $1000. at all.
