News 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort reopening in April 2024

I guess I just have lower standards than most of the people here. I've always enjoyed the character meals, and I actually enjoy the food at WDW. I've never thought of it as "mediocre at best" as most people around here seem to.

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Where exactly are they going to fit this mythical new park in Anaheim?

WDW is going to charge for what now?

I despise April Fool's Day, especially on the Internet.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Also, there are tens of thousands of Florida voters who work for Disney Orlando. Easier to convince them of the big bad folks in across the country in California than right there where they work.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

Agreed. Even if you wanted to base a campaign on an "anti-woke" strategy, Disney was the wrong target. Liberal or not, Disney is still beloved and Walt Disney World is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. It was just never going to end well for DeSantis.

News “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater

In fairness to Disney, what do people want? Which of those four parks are the one that Disney always has to work to draw people *away* from? Magic Kingdom. When people think of Walt Disney World, they think of Magic Kingdom. That's where they want to go. That's what attracts them. While I don't...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Yes, but you are offsite. That's the point. People act like on-property hotels should be priced the same as off-property hotels and only want to compare the hotel itself. "Well, you can get the same room 2 miles down the road for 20% less." But the fact is, being on-site is a major perk that...

News Former Walt Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde to be honored as a Disney Legend at D23 2024

Wait... Frank Oz was not already a Disney Legend? How is that even possible? Good grief. Very nice to see John Williams getting honored as well.

News Typhoon Lagoon Reopens March 17, 2024

    1. Bob Iger so loves the water parks that he is personally helping build new attractions at one park for the next 6 months. 2. Goofy is actually being quarantined in the closed water park due to that nasty bug he contracted on his last European tour. 3. It's a cost-cutting measure.

    Sebastian’s food limits

I tend to not like the use of phrases like "first world problems," but if this thread isn't the definition of a first world problem, I don't know what is. We're on page 3 of arguing about bread, to the point of doing a legal analysis on Disney's menus. Bottom line: People are accustomed to...

News Disney H2O Glow After Hours Returns to Walt Disney World

How crowded are these events typically compared to the normal daytime crowd at a Disney water park?

    February 2025

Schools take an entire week off for Presidents Day? I've never heard of that. None of the schools around here do.

MSEP ending at Disneyland on Sept 1, WDW return in 2023?

Maybe. But, ultimately, DL and WDW are not two separate companies. It's all Disney. And if you move up the food chain high enough, there is someone over both who could make the decision that it's headed to WDW whether the DL team likes it or not.

MSEP ending at Disneyland on Sept 1, WDW return in 2023?

Sure it could. Perhaps you could accurately say that MSEP cannot easily survive another cross-country trip. But there are always ways to get it there. If Disney wants MSEP in Orlando, they can make it happen.

MSEP ending at Disneyland on Sept 1, WDW return in 2023?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict that MSEP does not, in fact, return to WDW in 2023 as the thread title suggests.

News New Changes Coming to the Disney Look 2021

Minimum wage laws apply to all but the tiniest employers. In most states, it's around 5 employees for minimum wage to kick in. So yes, that mom and pop company with 20 employees is having to adhere to the same minimum wage law as Disney. My biggest beef with minimum wage is not that it should...

News New Changes Coming to the Disney Look 2021

I work at a college and see lots of efforts related to job placement. I assure you that a large percentage of employers still ban visible tattoos of any kind in 2024.
