    Disney’s Q3 FY23 Earnings Results Webcast

I'm sure they will find some way to spin the dual strikes as a positive thing with regards to freeing up cash flow, the same way that Warner Bros Discovery did the other day when they bragged on their earnings calls about the strikes saving them over $100 million in Q2. Considering Iger's...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

DeSantis really should've just taken the L and moved on.

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

This. DeSantis and his board of cronies truly seemed to partake in the shared delusion that they would be wielding significant influence not just over Disney's Florida operations, but across every division of the company, up to and including approving movie pitches and okaying TV series...

News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

I've seen several articles floating around the inter webs lately (including one on the front page of reddit) floating the false notion about how this move now also gives DeSantis and his board authority over the content that The Walt Disney Company produces going forward. This is a mistaken...

Disney Employees Must Return to Office Four Days a Week, Bob Iger Says

I'm a big proponent of WFH, but it seems like some are acting as if this is some kind of unheard-of threshold that Disney is crossing. They're hardly the only large company to order employees back to the office - heck, they're not even the only media company to do this. Last summer Warner Bros...

    DLR Picture of the Day

I randomly caught this pic last night after getting off Space Mountain. I had actually never seen the fireworks from that side of the park - pretty cool!

    Coranavirus Disneyland General Discussion

I agree. I also think that reinstating the mask mandate will do little, if anything, to convince non-vaccinated people to get the vaccine. And for me, the source of my frustration and the reason my patience is wearing thin is because this current surge is being driven primarily by people who are...

    Coranavirus Disneyland General Discussion

Getting back on topic a little, I live in LA County and this is re-instating of the mandate is beyond frustrating to me - on one hand, unless you have legitimate medical reasons for not being vaccinated, there really isn't any reason why you shouldn't be by now - and the more vaccinated people...

Politics 28000 Layoffs coming to Disney's domestic theme parks - statement from Josh D'Amaro

Agreed. This isn't a black/white, good/evil type situation. It's a tenuous, complicated position that Disney now finds themselves in with no easy solutions. The parks division have been operating at a massive loss since March, and even now we still don't know when things will be back to...

Politics 28000 Layoffs coming to Disney's domestic theme parks - statement from Josh D'Amaro

I feel very much for the cast members affected. Disney blaming Governor Newsome in their statement was very petty though. Like others have said, it seems as if these layoffs would have occurred even if Disneyland had been allowed to open at limited capacity. And they make it seem like the CA...

News Walt Disney World's COVID-19 reopening plans announced - July 11

Yeah, there's no way on earth that the theme park at Universal Studios Hollywood is going to be opening anytime soon. None of the SoCal theme parks including Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm - and of course, Disneyland - are currently open and that's not likely to change in the next...

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

I agree with everything here. Hopefully Trump sees reason (Ha!) and doesn't back away from lifting the social distancing orders. Even if he did, I doubt he could force the government of states like California and New York to lift their orders. And even if, heaven forbid, that did happen, does he...

News PHOTOS - Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom to receive enhancements this summer

I like it. I think Cindy's castle could use a bit of freshening up.

Interesting little BTMRR detail (references to other parks' BTMRR)

So on my last visit to the park I noticed an interesting detail on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad that I had never spotted before. After the last turn as the trains pass the dinosaur skeleton and slow down as they pass the town, there's a sign on the left side of the track that indicates the...

Going Back to DL After 1 Year - Expectations And Tips

IMO, Smuggler's run isn't quite as intense as Star Tours, although it can be quite bumpy (depending on who is pilot). Haven't been on FOP, so can't comment. But if you're at all sensitive to motion sickness you may want to skip it. I'm not sure if the Disneyland Railroad was open the last time...

Disneyland's Rise Of The Resistance - Reviews, Criticism, Deep Thoughts

Looking forward to the reports. The ride sounds amazing from what I've heard. I've actually intentionally not seen or read too much about the minutiae of the ride as I don't wanna be TOTALLY spoiled. We'll see if they can pull it off.

    SICK Space Mountain Holiday overlay

I'm all for holiday offerings and overlays (love Haunted Mansion Holiday) but this looks pretty janky and makes no sense from a thematic perspective. At least Hyperspace Mountain and Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy make sense within the overall theme of the ride.

When will Disney finally build another resort in the United States if ever?

I can't imagine them building another resort stateside in the near future. There were plans in the 90's to build a resort in suburban DC (Disney's America), but the project stalled and eventually was killed off. I think having two resorts on both coasts works well. Agree about the rumors of a...

    How scary is Mission Space?

Agree with everyone here. It's not scary at all. The build-up to the ride, with the multiple safety videos / warnings, etc., was more nerve-wracking than the actual ride IMO.
