Tropical Hideaway Construction - Tiki Room Refurbishment - Adventureland Entry Remodel

(Side note, the Dream Suite hasn't been the Dream Suite for a few years. It is now fully 21 Royal.)

    Toon Town question

One friendly suggestion: don't get your heart set on Gadget's Go Coaster, because it's an EXTREMELY tight fit for an adult. In fact, I don't know if I could fit in there anymore and I'm relatively in shape, though my issue is bending my bad knee back. I'm not quite sure if it was intended for...

Say goodbye to Bats Day Weekend at Disneyland - OC Register

If Dapper Days went away that would do wonders for that weekend at the Parks. My family stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, fortunately for 5 days because the crowds were horrendous, and the addition of the Expo rendered the hotel and its premises useless. It was impossible for us to get food or...

Why Didn't Disney Build a Hawaiian Themed Hotel Instead?

Sorry but I hugely disagree. Yes Don's is closing, but that's due to land owners being greedy and jacking up rent to put condos in its place. That particular Don's isn't even an original nor owned by the family, so while it sucks that the name is disappearing, the history and value of it pales...

Why Didn't Disney Build a Hawaiian Themed Hotel Instead?

Well, there is Tropical Hideaway coming soon enough, that sorta fits the bill. I agree with themed restaurants though and when the announcement of various Downtown Disney locations closing (particularly House of Blues) I had really hoped of something along the lines of Jock Lindsey's - something...

Why Didn't Disney Build a Hawaiian Themed Hotel Instead?

It lasted approximately from 1934-1970s, a pretty long run. It started to die in the 60s though the larger more popular venues lasted a bit longer. The popularity of Trader Sam's is largely related to the revival of the tiki scene, not to mention well-crafted cocktails (also in revival) and...

Why Didn't Disney Build a Hawaiian Themed Hotel Instead?

Because there's Aulani for an actual, culturally-authentic Hawaiian experience instead of Polynesian pop. Really? Yeah, tiki as we know it was born in Los Angeles. Much of its former glory still exists, although it was once flourishing in nearly every city cross the country.

I would opt for "off topic" over "interesting."

Rumor: Splash Mountain receiving WDW-style logs

Yeah this definitely ain't happening. It likely is just the WDW asset being repurposed for the map at DL. Take a look at the Radiator Racers on the DCA map and you'll notice the cars are driving the opposite direction on the track. Little details.

    Tropical Hideaway

I ended up asking for the account removal myself, because of the high amount of negative votes I received from various posts. People don't appreciate going against the grain, it seems. Buncha lemmings! Anyway, back on topic, as people have stated - it's no Tahitian Terrace, but better than...

Wedding inside Disneyland Last Night 2/8/18

You can get married inside the parks, you must choose either before or after the park's working hours. It is a pretty penny to say the least. My wife and I were married at the Disneyland Hotel w/our reception at the Grand Californian.

    Going to Club 33

I went over D23 Expo weekend and got to thoroughly enjoy Le Salon Nouveau - I've since been 100% convinced that the expansion was a good idea. If I ever strike it rich, I am immediately applying for membership.

Just got back from DL Resort...few thoughts

-It makes me feel old to agree, but you're absolutely right. I've seen a LOT of a ss cheek at the Parks lately, it's amazing. What's the point of having a dress code if you can look like a trashy s.lut? Are they too scared to enforce properly and have to be the bad guy? -Also agree. I'm afraid...

Trader Sam's Closed for Refurbishment - Does That Mean The CM's Too?

Yeah, well what likely happened was that the wrong number was ordered out of mistake or lack of realization. The number from last year was akin to the event version of the Mahaloween mugs as opposed to the more open ended edition. Anyway, more importantly 4 new cocktails were added to the menu...

Trader Sam's Closed for Refurbishment - Does That Mean The CM's Too?

I cruised in at 10 am and was out by 1048 am. Those waiting 2-3 hours in my opinion are/were just suckers and it serves them right for buying into the hype. :p People were up at 4-6 am made a fuss out of nothing. The mug run is 10,000 so they should last for a bit.

Disneyland Hotel vs. Paradise Pier Hotel

Magic Morning switches daily between parks, so once morning you'll have DL and the next DCA. Having stayed in all hotels, if you must stay on property you'd get more of a worthwhile experience at the Disneyland Hotel. Your 5 year old will appreciate it as well. Funny enough, if I recall...
