    Cheering others on

Hey! I saw that sign! Thanks for being there! The crowd support affected me more this year than before. Maybe because I was more focused on really soaking in the experience this time, but I literally teared up a few times, especially when a stranger read my bib and called my name. It was...

    A Glass Slipper Trip Report

I've been pretty much absent here for a while. My training this year has been not so great, with some nagging Achilles and hip flexor pain, so I've done more resting than running. But I was determined to get that Glass Slipper medal and doing a runDisney race reminded me how awesome you guys...

How many runDisney miles have you run?

    Add 19.3 for me for Glass Slipper Challenge. 13.1 + 19.3 = 32.4!

    Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend

That would be me! Started late then had to take 12 days off to rest a sore hip. I did 6 miles yesterday. Planning runs of 3, 6 and 10 miles this week and definitely doing a Galloway run/walk. I think I will be in survival mode by about mile 5 on Sunday!

    Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

I did that same thing in a half last weekend...basically walked through the water stations which were about 1.5 - 1.9 miles apart. Worked great for me too!

    4 mile race as training

I don't have much to add except to say welcome and glad you found this forum! You are right about the cameraderie on this site. It is the best and has become my first stop for all things running, Disney-related or not.

Rock n Roll Half New Orleans race report

Oh and I finished around 2:42. Six minutes better than Disney and a new PR!

Rock n Roll Half New Orleans race report

The finish chute was a little crowded with people on both sides handing you food and drinks and Mylar blankets. By the time I found my husband, my arms were overflowing! We found the shuttle bus that took us back to the start area. That whole thing worked really well and was very organized...

Rock n Roll Half New Orleans race report

About halfway and the Lone Ranger theme song (William Tell Overture) came on my playlist! I just started laughing and smiling. I was saving the world! I know at this point that this was definitely different than the Disney. On into the French quarter which was eerily quiet and foggy. Grabbed...

Rock n Roll Half New Orleans race report

So we finally made it to the start line almost 30 minutes after the elites. They did a great job of pumping up the excitement for every corral. The atmosphere at the start line was awesome....dare I admit better than Disney? And we were off! It was foggy and humid and threatening rain. My...

Rock n Roll Half New Orleans race report

Warning! This will be a mushy, cheesy race report, but it was just that kinda race! I was weepy pretty much beginning to end. After fizzling at the end of the WDW Half, I just couldn't let it go. The Rock n Roll Half in New Orleans fell at the end of my husband's 50th birthday week so we...

    What did you do?

I admit I did not spend much time at the expo. My non-runner hubby was uninterested and antsy. I am trying to ditch him now so I can go back by myself for a while. ;)

    What did you do?

First impression of Rock n Roll - Toto, we aren't at Disney anymore. The crowd is definitely different. And as much as we complain about the cost of Disney races, at least we get a few little perks for the money. Something in the gear bag. Free runner tracking. Neither of which I'm getting...

    Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend

Sounds like you had a great weekend, @GoofyRacer11 I'm curious about your new marathon strategy that helped you make a PR. What did you change?

    What did you do?

Yep, we were paralyzed here too. I've been off the grid for a week or so. Hip flexor acting up again. I've ridden the exercise bike and worked out on the elliptical. I'm still gonna give the Rock n Roll in New Orleans a go this weekend. Looks like the weather will be about the same as the...

    VIP Potties

I am doing RnR in New Orleans next weekend. I run in Brooks shorts and love them, but not enough to buy $100 worth this week to use their porta potty!

    VIP Potties

I don't know why this strikes me as so funny. You want me to pay $100-$150 on your merchandise to use a VIP porta potty before a race? Really? http://www.brooksrunning.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-BrooksRunning-Site/default/Programs-VIP_PortaPotty

What is the corral of shame?

I had the similar experience as @216bruce at the WDW half. My proof of time did not make it to them before the cutoff and I was in the last corral. I was more worried about crowding than my pace, but everything was fine. There was one good thing about being in the last few corrals... With the...
