    PhotoPass Plus question

Thanks for asking this question! My next visit to WDW will be for an Orlando wedding and we're thinking of getting the bridal party to split a Photopass account that can be gifted to the married couple afterwards. (Esp. since they will have to split their time between many family groups and may...

Trip Report Even the Ostrich Wore a MagicBand! An August 2013 TR

I love PBS and seeing it here made me laugh out loud. Great trip report! You are such a talented photographer!

    Big Thunder evacuation

One of my family members was "walked off" the highest hill of BTMRR many years ago. The train just stopped on the ascent and they sat there for at least 15 minutes at an angle until CMs showed up to guide them down. She said that the guest reactions ranged from "Eh, about time, it's hot out...

    A Bit Unusual..Pop Century Request?

I second the "buy/bring cheap sheets and dump them on the last day" idea, especially considering how much you should be saving going from a mod to a value. You could buy a few sets and a blanket and still come out ahead. (And maybe leave a nice note for Mousekeeping explaining the extra sheets...

    ADR etiquette question

Thanks for the responses! Oh, I hope not! In the real world, this wouldn't even cross my mind as a possible issue. I go to local places for dessert and coffee all the time. The world of ADRs seems to have its own code, however, so thought it would be best to ask.

    ADR etiquette question

Hi all, I'd like some opinions on whether making an ADR but eating only dessert (or an appetizer and dessert) would be a faux pas or not. Obviously, common courtesy would apply: making sure to tip the server well, not "camping" at the table, booking for a slightly 'off' time as opposed to the...

    Birthday Surprise Trip

Welcome! I'm not familiar with the official birthday package, so I'll leave that to someone else to review. Park congestion should be fairly low as long as you're not right on top of New Years week/weekend. Since the 6th is a Tuesday, I think most of the holiday crowds will have cleared out...

Tower of Terror effects status watch

I'll bite... how many are we talking? Just a few? More? Enough to not stay there? (starting from the assumption that every resort will have a certain level of...scurrying things...due to food and human presence)

Could it be facts prove Star Wars is just not the draw is used to be?

Not sure, but I distinctly recall he used the word "embarrassed." It stuck out. I read that bit over twice because it surprised me so much. Obviously, that's just his [1983] opinion; I thought it was relevant to this discussion because it sounded as though he didn't expect it to go the distance...

Could it be facts prove Star Wars is just not the draw is used to be?

I would guess that we're probably still too close to tell. For instance, younger siblings will have easy access to their older siblings' book copies, to which the initial owners are still too attached to banish to the attic/basement/giveaway bin. The movies are still being rerun on cable; I'm...

Is it possible to avoid characters at Disney?

Thanks for coming back. :) Had a feeling you weren't a troll, and it must have taken some courage to put all this info out into the judgmental Wild West of the internet. Just curious, how are you with audio-animatronics?

    My Magic + details ...

Thanks, Dave, I was wondering that. The hub for MSEP makes sense. The rose garden, slightly less so, because then you're going to get AngryFirstTimer complaining that "the fireworks in my photos didn't line up with the castle the way they do on the tv commercials!" It's one of the only places...

    "it's a small world"

Thanks, Soarin', that hungover hippo just made my morning! (Obviously, yeah, not supposed to look like that. But I have a serious case of the giggles now, which I sorely needed.)

6/25/13 - The Day Spectro Died... Sorry guys..

I am also watching the video and appreciating how much thought went into Spectro's creation. The classic Disney tunes were well-integrated with the original Spectro music (e.g., I love that little dash of "When you Wish Upon a Star" used as a transition point), the sizes of the floats varied...

Rose from Beauty and the Beast

I remember the lamp stairs being roped off when I was there, because I wanted to go up and touch it soooooo much and couldn't. (Not saying it was always roped off; just that particular day that stuck with me. Also a possibly unreliable memory.)

Is it possible to avoid characters at Disney?

Not sure if DeVine would bother you as much as Mickey, since she's more of a costume than a character, but your boyfriend might want to keep an eye out for her in AK so she doesn't startle you. I would also suggest starting the trip with a resorts-only day to ease into the Disney vibe. Good luck!
