    The Flu 😷

We are at Disney now. Nothing out of the ordinary that I’ve seen- kids coughing but it’s winter and the weather has been up and down. I have noticed that many snack stations have hand sanitizer machines you can use.

    Hurricane Matthew

We live in Brevard County- east of Orlando. Port Canaveral has already closed to boats and businesses. So far schools here are only closed Thursday and Friday. All beaches and other barrier islands like Merritt Island have mandatory evacuations starting at 3pm Wednesday. All state offices still...

Crowds are down? Curious about the claims . . .

I was at Blizzard Beach yesterday and I can tell you it was very busy. The parking lot was completely filled- they were starting to get creative with spots. Also there was a dreaded Brazilian your group of approximately 50 teenage girls. Let's just say there wasn't a lot of relaxing in the lazy...

What's the AK like at night?

We were there last weekend and loved it. The safari was great at sunst- about 8:25-8:30. We saw the most animals we have ever seen. All 3 lions were up walking around- the male even roared. Expedition Everest was very cool at night. Just walking around was beautiful.

    Sanaa - Awesome

My husband and I go there every time we leave Animal Kibgdom and sit in the lounge. We never have a problem finding seats. Bread service + glass of wine= great dinner. The bread service is one of the best deals on property.

Parking at hotels for counter-service dining

My family also went to the monorail resorts on Saturday and we had no problems parking at GF. We just told the security guard that we were going to look at the Christmas decorations and we were let right in.

    Affordable condo/villas on property?

On site I would go with Bonnet Creek. I love the cabins at FW, but with one bathroom it can get cramped. Off site I would recommend Grand Beach resort. It is less than 5 minutes from Disney property. You can get 3 bedroom (2 king beds and 2 twin) 3 bath with full kitchen, laundry, large living...

Elderly Parents....what to do outside of parks?

I agree I would reconsider your dining experiences. All of your choices are loud, busy restaurants. If you are looking for a nice evening, I would take them to the GF. I'm sure they would enjoy listening to the big band and the piano player. While the main lobby area can get quite busy, there...

Random acts of Kindness at WDW

My husband and I were resort hopping late at night. When it was time to get back to our hotel on hotel plaza blvd, there were no taxis in sight. The bellhop called several times and we waited almost 30 minutes. Then a manager from the GF came out and offered us a ride in a company car. We tipped...

    Temps at night

I was cruising last week and while the weather was in the upper 70s to lower 80s in the day, it was super windy. Gusts 20-40mph. Still could be in bathing suit but if on the upper decks it was nice to have a light sweater or sweatshirt available. Nighttime was still in the 70s. So I wouldn't...

Share your experience with taking your special needs child

I work in early intervention and I have found that for many of my clients with SPD and autism disney can be an extraordinary place for them. Is she a seeker or an avoider? Some rides would be great for her and others would be too much for her. Take frequent breaks, avoid going during peak times...

It will pretty much all be gone at the parks and resorts.

FP+ - Can it be used if i don't use my band to enter the park?

It worked for us back in September. My husband and were able to use my in-laws bands at Soarin and they hadn't been in Epcot that day.

    Visiting resorts?

You shouldn't have any problem resort hopping. As a local I go to numerous resorts during the holiday just to spend the afternoon or evening. Just tell them at the gate you are there to look at decorations and to hve a drink at the lounge. Show your drivers license and they let you right in...

    A huge auditorium

The Walt Disney Theater at Dr Phillips Performing Arts Center just opened this month so I doubt Downtown Disney could compete with the magnitude of this place. In fact, Newsies will be performed this season.
