Thanks for the info. We are definitely planning to head out early and plan to be back at the resort by lunchtime to hang out by the pool and relax. We'll then head back out in the evening & take advantage of any PM EMH's. I was definitely making myself nuts over booking an August vacation but...

First time going in August. We'll be there the 17th-24th...besides the heat, we're not quite sure what to expect. Does it normally rain everyday? Crazy Crowds?

Back in 2009, we were there the first week in October and it was BRUTAL... felt more like July. Last year we went 11/6-11/13 and it was pretty cold. This year we'll be arriving on 10/22 and I plan to watch the extended forecast just before we leave in order to try and pack right!

We too went the first week of November last year (11/6-11/13), went to MVMCP on the third night it was offered and got to see most of the decorations...about the only ones that were not up yet were the resort decorations which included the gingerbread house at the GF but that didn't bother us...

I agree... we have always been lucky to get a cheap enough car rental and prefer to drive our own vehicle rather than taking the buses. We also always plan a monorail resort dinner or breakfast on the days we want to visit the MK and therefore take the monorail...with tired kids, the last thing...

We always try to eat somehwere different but so far our favorites have been: Narcoosees (sp?) Cape May Cafe - dinner Teppan Edo Wolfgang Puck Express Ohana LeCellier Going in October and going to try Yachtsman Steakhouse (hope it's as good as the reviews)

Thanks for everyone's input...my 12 yr old decided late last night to forego the princess dining & requested we book the Ohana breakfast with Lilo & Stitch instead. She knows how much Stitch freaks her older sister out so this is her way of getting some laughs!:)

I too agreee with going and enjoying yourself. While I've never been in June during this time, I can tell you that on one of our trips back in October of '09, we stayed at CSR and there was a gay/lesbian/transvestite convention going on that same week at the resort and it didn't bother us one...

Downtown Disney area Resort, 1997 ASMusic, 2005 Pop Century, 2007 Coronado, 2009 AKL, 2010 I liked Coronado the best of all so far but we are going to try Beach Club in October of this year and can't wait. :)
