Tune-In Lounge - possible for a quick lunch?

I think it all depends on time of year and time of day. We just got back and walked into both the Hollywood Brown Derby for lunch and into the Tune-In Lounge not long after for a drink, with no ADRs. But it was October when crowds were lighter and it was later in the afternoon (1:30p for lunch)...

    Random Observations

Just got back from a trip. My most random observation is that the FreindShip boats are looking real sad these days. Noticed a lot of rust, patches and one smelt like it had a diesel leak.

News Remy's Ratatouille Adventure coming to Epcot

Question: will the gondola be visible from street level in the World Showcase? I am assuming the elevation is low enough that the trees and buildings will obscure the cables and cars, but I am not an architect.

    Very Silly Question about Aulani

Interesting, that's not how it was explained to me while I was there. Nevertheless, its a great place to stay. Went for our honeymoon and treated it like a regular resort.

    Very Silly Question about Aulani

Just to second what Pax_65 said, we drove everywhere as well. Because it is on the southwest side of the island is somewhat remote. Without a car you either have to spend a majority time in Ko'Olina or get transportation. When booking excursions through Aluani you are mostly paying for the...

    Very Silly Question about Aulani

Just in case anyone was counting there are 359 hotel rooms & 460 Disney Vacation Club Villas. The resort is split between two towers. Looking at the resort from above, the right side tower is the hotel side and the left side of the resort is DVC. Its similar in theory to how Boardwalk is set-up...

    Driving from NJ to Disney

Philly native who drives down pretty frequently (i.e. once a year). I would agree with CTC here on the 301 route. Check Google Maps or Waze, but if there is traffic around DC this is your best bet. I have left early on Saturday morning and still hit heavy traffic on 495 in DC. I have taken 301...

    News Disney Riviera Resort announced

This is all subjective. Poly pool is nice, Wilderness Lodge is amazing and both are DVC resorts. You are basing your entire opinion of this project on one piece of concept art.

    News Disney Riviera Resort announced

While the concept art is a little underwhelming I am taking an optimistic outlook. Back to my post about Brazil, maybe they left the concept art looking like a "hotel on I-4" so they have the flexibility to theme the resort however they seem fit when the time comes. We have all seen...

    News Disney Riviera Resort announced

The Belmond Copacabana Palace is a fairly famous hotel. And I don't think it would be completely esoteric if they are trying to attract international clientele for a more moderate price point.

    News Disney Riviera Resort announced

Hey team, I know there is a lot of talk on here about the theme and whether it will be French or South American themed. Watching the Olympics last year from Brazil, I remember a big story on how their public gondola transportation has revolutionized travel and modernized their workforce by...

Muppets Mini-Land / Muppets Courtyard Additions & Refurbishments

Just a thought; there is a Walt Disney Grand Theater in Disneytown at the Shanghai Disney Resort, which currently houses the Lion King show. Maybe the parks division is just trying to theme the buildings separately from the shows that are in them. But wouldn't it make more sense to call this...

So... What Would You Rename Hollywood Studios?

I think its simply going to be called Walt Disney Studios. The different themed lands with align with different divisions of the actual motion picture studio.

    Trader Sam's

I stayed at Poly a week ago and we went to Trader Sam's a couple of times. The experience was hit and miss. It is hard to get a seat. The host will give you a pager should a table become available, but seating is first come first serve, so there is no guarantee. This makes absolutely no sense...

    ToT Bar

Any validity to this rumor? Saw this on a few other sites now and also a local FOX affiliate picked it up today. Whether its conjecture or not, the rumor seems to be spreading. Apparently, the bar will be located in the general area of where the picture kiosk is now. 1920/30s themed drinks...

    Best craft beer in Disney

Has no one mentioned Big River Grille at Boardwalk? Honestly I spent a lot of time in there my last trip, talked to the brewer, invested in some beers. IMO this is the best place/value on property for craft/micro beer. As opposed to spending $7-$8 in park for a macro (blue moon, redhook, etc.)...

Great Read! Ed Catmulls new book

Searched the boards and found your posting. I think this discussion is a little more suited for the Walt Disney Company board but I wanted to build on what you posted. I am in the throes of this book right now. Its a fantastic read, especially for anyone who is interested in business and...

Which park to visit for the extra day?

If you have young kids I would say Animal Kingdom. Although it will be stifling hot, there are more shows/rides for younger kids (i.e. Lion King, Nemo). Finding Nemo- The Musical's music was written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez of Frozen fame. Plus there is the safari and a lot of...

Ever seen someone famous while at wdw?

Tia and Tamara Mowry. Teppanyaki Dining Room. November of 1992. Me and my brother got a pic with them, and for some reason my brother face got blurred out. Hilarious.

    Pre- Jelly Rolls Dinner...

If you want the best food I would say Captain's Grill...however if you are anything like me and would prefer beer over food, BRG has the best beer value on property. Their beers are about $5 and have a considerably higher ABV then your normal macro-fare you would get at any other restaurant. If...
