Wish (Walt Disney Animation - November 2023)

I just wonder if the writing process of this movie was smoother than the last time Jennifer Lee penned a script herself...where they didn't even know what the emotional climax of Frozen 2 would be a mere few months before release date.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Really, if they change Mara into an angry animal spirit, Indiana Jones Adventure wouldn't be that different conceptually from Expedition: Everest.

News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

I suppose you could split Dinoland in two. The Moana section could be included with the Nemo musical to be about animals of Oceania. Maybe the Boneyard could become an exhibit. The Zootopia ride could be part of a section about fables and the history of humans using animals as allegories for...

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

They did just add a long riverside path of nothingness to connect Africa to Pandora at DAK.

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

If Disney didn't have "Frontierland" as a literal copyrighted brand, I'd say just change the name of that quadrant of the park to "Riverfront of the Americas." Even if the Beyond Big Thunder expansion never happens, it would help make Tiana seem less out-of-place in an area otherwise themed to...

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

Changing the Rivers of America to Rivers of the Americas and segueing from the Southwestern United States to an animated/fantasy version of Mexico and then to one of Colombia and then to Fantasyland...that's actually a pretty good transition, thematically.

General Discussion of Tiana's Bayou Adventure

I'm genuinely curious how they plan to build up to the big drop with this story. None of the press materials so far mention it nor the thrill aspect at all, as opposed to the original Splash Mountain advertising which was ALL about the drop. It even looks like the scene in the final lift hill...

General Discussion of Tiana's Bayou Adventure

I think that's the purpose of the water tower....to do an inverse of forced perspective and make the mountain look shorter than it is.

General Discussion of Tiana's Bayou Adventure

It really does seem like this will be a bifurcated experience between the queue and the actual flume. I don't really see much connection between the co-op storyline and the singing animals that will populate the majority of the indoor portions of the ride. Or how Mama Odie factors at all into...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

I'm really not a fan of the "Help the characters do X"-type of story in a theme park ride. Yes, it's an attempt to be immersive and create a first-person narrative for riders...but they're strapped into a ride vehicle and have no agency in how the experience plays out. I guess it just comes off...

What is your Favorite WDW Resort TV Loop?

The new WDW Today music loop contains a lot of public domain music used in Fantasia, but it also includes orchestral versions of "The Bells of Notre Dame," "For the First Time in Forever," and the theme from Up. I loved it, but I will still miss the old loop.

    Early reviews for TLM ride?

The Little Mermaid is supposed to be better than Pooh and Peter Pan, but not as good as Mansion or Pirates. Keep that in mind when you ride.

    Early reviews for TLM ride?

The Little Mermaid really is a great sign. It is the first attraction that has centered around AA's in a while. It's good to see WDI going back to their roots. I'm not expecting a knock-you-out E-ticket. I just want a well-done dark ride.

I believe he is saying it is the only addition to DCA since WOC. Star Tours is at DL and is more or less an upgrade than a new additon.

    Early reviews for TLM ride?

Just from the video previews, I am highly impressed with the AA's in the ride. I'll hold judgment on the ride until I ride it myself, but a lot of the reviews are mixed.

    Early reviews for TLM ride?

It's the scene wher Ursula is huge. She's two dimensional cutout that is supposed to create athree dimensional illusion, but I have heard some call it cheap as well as the Ariel and Eric projection in that scene.

    Early reviews for TLM ride?

I've heard a lot of problems with the "Ursula Vanquished" scene.

    Early reviews for TLM ride?

Most of reviews are mixed. Some are unimpressed with the ending, ice-cream Ariel, and the lighting in the Under the Sea room.

    Concept Art from D23's Destination D-WDW 40th

Keep in mind, there's still a ton of work to do on the interiors of these buildings. Insiders on here have stated that October 2012 is a likely opening for Beauty and the Beast and Mermaid with Storybook Circus opening Spring to Summer of 2012.
