When are all these cutbacks not about COVID anymore?

Castle Dreamlights being cancelled this year actually makes sense to me. Magic Kingdom, at least through the third week of November, will only be open until 6pm. That means they'd only be on for guests to view for a short period of time at the end of the day before park close. Also, it may be a...

WDW Still Struggling with Safety and Unions

I agree with you, but in fairness to @ParentsOf4 , they were responding to a sentiment the 72% were not willing to go to theme/amusment parks right now because of Covid-19, leaving, assumably 28% that would go. When you compare that to the other survey, the 31% who were "very interested," that...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

I know Disney is doubling-down on mask requirements, not only what we see externally, but also internally. There is training that stresses why the company is taking the stance that it is on the mask requirements, presumably to ensure that any recalcitrant employees/CMs are on-board. This...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

I think part of the real answer here is that Disney is going "all in" on the whole "effective mask" concept. At the waterparks, masks are obviously not compatible, and so, Disney is choosing not to operate them. I also think, as has been already been mentioned, there are numerous other...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

No urban legend; it happened. I also know it does not happen any more. (again, primarily due to insufficient capacity)

Before Covid-19, it was also a capacity a problem, as in "shuttle mode" you can only operate 1 train at any given time.

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

I distinctly remember WDWRR operations being affected. IIRC (and I might not, it was a long time ago...) they tried a "shuttle mode" between MSUSA and Mickey's Starland Depot...and found out it wasn't worth operating that way and discontinued operations all together.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

I've been around here long enough, and I've read your posts often enough that I'll vouch for you. IMO, you're an intelligent and discerning individual.

Did Splash take a dump at 2:15, or is this just a glitch in the reporting?

    Cash-Strapped Disney

+1 as to reading the books (the movies pale in comparison - not that they're bad, they just have nothing on the books). I have not visited the lands, so I can't add anything there.

    Cash-Strapped Disney

FWIW, I think you each have a piece of the puzzle, and putting the three of your posts together, we get a fairly complete picture.

Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

If I'm understanding correctly, the problem is we aren't getting the total numbers...some of these labs are only reporting the positive tests, and not reporting anything at all on the negative tests - so they aren't making it into the "total tests" shown on the dashboard.

Oops! Sorry I misunderstood you! You are exactly correct, and I think you're right about those lease deals too...GM probably looks at it as some robust - and relatively cheap - marketing.

Respectfully, Steve, the Camaro has undergone some minor updates since 2015. If you look closely at the headlights/grilles you can see the cavalcade Camaros are the brand-new version (with wraps). Those are definitely not the same cars from SWW 2015.

    Horse gets tangled with Balloon

Let me add to this, the fact that the handlers were able to get the horse to stop bucking so quickly also speaks volumes as to how much trust and what a good relationship exists between that horse and those humans.

    Horse gets tangled with Balloon

Agreed, every CM, including Merida, took precisely the right steps and actions. The horse is obviously well-trained and conditioned appropriately, as even he/she dealt surprisingly well with suddenly having an entanglement around its rear leg. Merida's friend is obviously an experienced equestrian.
