News Disney to offer discount on new MagicBand designs as an optional alternative to complimentary solid color MagicBands

Since I posted a while back about my ordering experience, I thought I'd pop back on here to finish the story. My daughter and I got back home from our trip on 7/12. On 5/20, I purchased a Sorcerer Mickey Premium MagicBand for my daughter, but chose a basic band for myself. On 5/29, I received...

News Disney to offer discount on new MagicBand designs as an optional alternative to complimentary solid color MagicBands

Nice! I ordered mine on 5/20 for a trip coming up on 7/4. Still no bands and my contact with customer service resulted in a "huh, we'll send this to our IT department" and still no contact back...

Rumor Country Bear Jamboree to be Replaced by Toy Story Show?

Seems like a massive amount of work would be needed for such a conversion. The CB theater isn't really a stage - the space is a mechanized simulacrum of a stage. If there were to be a "Toy Story Stage Show" there would be the need for not only a performance space (an ACTUAL stage) but also...

BB-8 coming to Star Wars Launch Bay

Wall-E didn't turn out to be very dependable... Wall-E fails during photo op at D23 Expo

    Rumor from a Monorail worker.

    Yes, storage trailers.

    Muppet What-Not Workshop construction started

Yes, they definitely announced the Muppet Whatnot Workshops "coming to the parks" at the D23 Expo (I was at the presentation). My guess is that it'll be at Downtown Disney, rather than in the park, next to the attraction. It takes time - and it's expensive - to build and purchase a Whatnot, so...

When is The Muppet Whatnot Workshop coming to WDW?

The Muppet Whatnot Workshop is pretty cool concept and they are quality puppets. I bought one through their online store last January (back before FAO Schwarz crashed and burned - they are now owned by Toys R Us and their website, including the online Whatnot Workshop, is kaput). The news...

    What is this?

My wife arranged for us to go on a Wishes fireworks cruise a couple of years ago and the nice bonus, after Wishes ended, was that our boat was parked about 50 yards from where the Electrical Water Pageant started - it was great to have such an up close view!

What is The Weirdest Thing you've seen while you were at WDW?

Hmmm... public urination seems to be a theme... so I'll add my story... My wife and I were on the Keys to the Kingdom tour in September of 2007. While backstage, behind Splash Mountain, our guide was telling us about the water filtration system for the attraction and, while she was talking...

Did anybody else go to the DVC Vacation as You Wish in Boston this weekend?

Same show! Wife, daughter and I brought my parents (non-owners) with us. Spent a few hours at the aquarium first and then over to the trade center for a dose of Disney. We ended up in the front row in the center section. My daughter got a kick out of the singers... and the binoculars. :)

Did anybody else go to the DVC Vacation as You Wish in Boston this weekend?

We went to the Boston event (we're in Maine) and really enjoyed it. We didn't add on, but they were offering great deals and the whole event was a fun way to spend Father's Day!

    What's Up With Splash Mountain?

I was disappointed with the amount of trash throughout the ride when we went last, back in December of 08. The most glaring thing I saw was a "Not so Scary Halloween" times guide stuck on the rock work alongside the flume, not 15 feet from the final launch attendant. So, a times guide had...

1/1/09 DHS Update (New TSMM T-shirts...maybe...I think)

The three window reproductions are of Walt's Train Station window, Roy's window and Elias' window. They are $50 each and, I believe, are limited to 500 or 1500 pieces each (can't remember which).

    Who exactly is Jim Hill?

A few years back, Jim advertised that he was going to do a CD walking tour of Disneyland and actually released a sample track online as a teaser. I placed a preorder for the CD which after several months, never came out. I emailed Jim asking about the progress to which he responded that it...

Massive guest room refurbishment project of several Disney resorts begins this summer

My family stayed in two rooms at Riverside - Magnolia Bend - and I was really surprised at the condition of the rooms, for a Disney resort. The grout in the bathroom was mildewy, the bathtub stained up, shelves and furniture was dusty and, on the outside, it looked like most of the doors had...

Disney Stores owned By Disney Again!

The South Portland, Maine store will be closing. It was originally not on the list for closure, but has been added. It's one of the stores that was redone when The Children's Place took over the stores and, according to the staff at the, the remodeling was done with very poor workmanship. The...

Anyone know anything about this book?

I don't think the original poster means either of the books suggested above. "Realityland" is David Koenig's upcomming followup to his earlier Disneyland books (which I've enjoyed). The other listed above is an e-book about saving $ on your trip. The one the OP is asking about used to be...

Pooh Case Victory....but not for Disney!!!

It's proper to include attribution for a reposted article (i.e., what's the source of this?). Maybe there's a story out there I missed, but major news outfits I find reporting on this (AP, Boston Herald, L.A. Times, Orlando Sentinel) present the most recent legal decision as more of a...

    The Swan and Dolphin's Fate

Check out Wade Sampson's 7/26 article over at MousePlanet. He relays information from a conversation with the building's architect (Graves) who says that this is not true - the black box on the Swan is part of the overall thematic 'story' told throughout the hotel's design.
