    quick downtown disney question

I was just there this past weekend. As mentioned above it's 3 hours free parking and an additional 2 hours if you get your ticket validated at a sit-down restaurant or the movies theater.

Fog with Blackbeard not working on POTC

It wasn't working when we were last weekend either. In fact, PotC was down for 5 hours on Friday (March 9) and went down several times on Saturday (March 10).

    Coronado Springs

Just returned from a three night stay at CSR. This was our first time there and I was pleasantly surprised. We were in Casitas 2, so it was a bit of a walk to the main pool site, but the theming in the courtyards was very peaceful, parking was plentiful and though there was a convention group...

    Your Biggest Disney Regret!

I regret leaving this morning and not getting to see the soft open of Storybook Circus!

    Pop wi fi working

Just stayed there last night. Free WiFi WAS available and fast. And yes, at check-in they were telling us if you did not have a fridge in your room (we already did) to just call and they would bring you one for free. :)

Photos - Storybook Circus soft opening

It looks so fabulous, but I could cry! We just left there this morning! I was really hoping for a soft opening yesterday so we could get a glimpse before we left. :(

The Most Authentic Country At Epcot?

I've traveled to Canada, UK, France, Italy, Japan, and Mexico in real life, but I think Morocco is the only pavilion that really makes you feel like you are there because you can wind your way back through the walkways and really feel like you've left Epcot behind. The Japan pavilion is a...

Best Day you ever Had at Disney?

My best day was my 40th birthday! We had breakfast at Kona Cafe (Tonga Toast, natch!) and spent the day at MK. Mary Poppins was the first character to wish me a Happy Birthday, followed by a million other people. Lines were surprisingly short for July. We had a great dinner at Tony's...

Is getting a Disney Visa card worth it...

Another Day 1 Charter cardholder here! We use our reward points to pay for our food on our trips. We visit about every 18 months or so and are usually able to cover the vast majority of our meals with our reward card.

    I can't believe I did that!

I have to travel to Florida for a training course for work next week and talked my husband and son (it took them about three seconds to say YES!) to flying down at the end of my course and meeting me in WDW. I was able to book a three day package back in January so we got a nice room discount...

    Resort transport early in morning.

I have to tell you, I have seen this mentioned several times on the boards and we asked about this the last time we were down there (Jan '11) and had early morning ADRs and NO ONE at the front desk knew what we were talking about. We ended up just taking a cab from our resort.

    July vs. August and EMH's

The last time we went in July (of 2009) I was surprised at how light the crowds were. We were there on a weekend and most things were 30 minute or less wait the entire time. We'd expected much larger crowds and were pleasantly surprised. I prefer evening EMHs. We usually hit a park and...

How Do You Go and Plan for Disney?

    1) Do you start saving for it? Or do you just have the money? We are fortunate enough to just have the money. 2) Do you think about where you want to stay? Or is it just wherever you can get? Cheapest? Nicest? Newest? Best Value? We try to stay someplace we've not stayed before and prefer the...

Trip report for January 14-19, 2011

Tuesday, January 18 This was our last day and, hands down, our best day. It also became our worst. As this was my sister's birthday trip, and Pooh is her absolute favorite, I made ADRs for breakfast at Crystal Palace. The absolute best part of that was being able to get into the park before...

Trip report for January 14-19, 2011

Saturday, January 16 All 5 of us are also avid Harry Potter fans, so we had to make a pilgrimage to WWoHP. I'd arranged for a private van to take us to Universal and bring us back which worked out really well. Won't go into too much detail, but WWoHP was busy (the wait for Forbidden Journey...

Trip report for January 14-19, 2011

Friday, January 15 Our friends from the UK had arrived on Wednesday and enjoyed two days in the parks before we got there and we'd previously arranged to meet them at 7:45am as we had ADRs at Kona Cafe for 8:15am. The five of us grabbed a cab over to the Poly ($12) as that was the quickest...

Trip report for January 14-19, 2011

This trip was to celebrate my sister's 40th birthday. When I turned 40 in July 2009, my husband, son (then 10, now 12), sister and I celebrated at WDW and she'd decided she wanted to do the same thing. This time, however, my husband stayed home and two friends from the UK came over to join...

    The Point Resort?

We are planning a Labor Day weekend trip as a surprise birthday present for my son. Since it's a surprise and we are going to offer either 2 Disney days and 1 Universal or 2 Universal and 1 Disney day, we are going to stay off property. Anyone ever stayed at The Point Universal Orlando...
