Space Mountain refurbishment begins April 19 2009

I hope so. When I saw that at DL, I thought it was one of the smartest things I have seen because it eliminates the main problem with Buzz. It makes everyone happier; the ADA likes it because it helps the ride be more handicapped friendly, the people who actually need to use that car like it...

So we're exactly 3 years away from WDW's 40th. When do they start prepping?

Hmmm. The ride could be so many things, but for the area I assume it's either Beastly Kingdomme or the Little Mermaid area mentioned on the Blue Sky Disney blog.

    Studio Backlot Tour Automated Spiel?

Because doing one semi-minor refurb costs less than having to staff the ride for a few months, and it will also bring in (minor) crowds to see what it new.

    Upcoming Fantasyland ReDesign

I actually disagree. If the decrease of shows for Fantasmic! means what everyone thinks it means (which is that the economy is hitting Disney hard), they need to build a big draw. This might be it.

    Recent Trip Thoughts

The puppetry is based on the puppetry in The Lion King and Avenue Q on Broadway. Basically, the theory behind it is that the puppets give the characters a sense of identity (they actually look like them!) but the actors then add another level of depth, being able to show a much more flexible...

What's your least favorite WDW park?

While I love all the parks and would always want to be at ANY of them instead of being at home, I would have to actually say it's a tie between two for me. They are DAK and (dare I say it) Epcot :zipit:. The only reason I put DAK is because, when I have a five day trip (as I usually do, with 2...

    Contemporary Tower Looks bad

It would look something like this: I like it!

    What impressed you most?

I agree about the food allergy policy. Disney is really the only place where they are that accommodating.

How much DID Disney spend on Attractions?

It makes sense that BTMRR was so inexpensive, seeing as how it was really only built as a quick fix to get people to come to WDW before Epcot opened. Horizons, on the other hand, was supposed to be one of the best Epcot attractions.

does UoE need to be more relevant?

I like it too, but not enough to spend 45 minutes on it. Disney really needs to make a spectacular attraction to be able to ask people to devote that much of their day to one attraction.

Walt Disney's Legends of Imagineering and the Genesis of the Disney Theme Park

Don't you mean October 2nd, 2011? Maybe it could coincide with the 40th! :brick::brick::brick::brick:

    Wait times

Wasn't there something like 320 mins for Soarin' on new year's eve?

    FWIW.....a CM told me.....

Very interesting. And, by the way, I didn't count The Sixth Sense because it is distributed by Buena Vista.

    Free Custom Disney Maps

I can't find the button to order it. Only to print. I'm sure it's right in front of me, but any help would be great! :brick:

    FWIW.....a CM told me.....

I counted and got 10: - Titanic - E.T. - The Da Vinci Code - Transformers - Forrest Gump - The Passion of the Christ - War of the Worlds - I Am Legend - King Kong - The Day After Tomorrow The list I used is from Wikipedia and is NOT adjusted for inflation.

Millennium Village - is it use regularly for anything?

Well, at DLR, they've gone outside the berm for PoTC and HM, and completely moved it for Space Mountain. I'm sure there's more, but those immediately come to mind.

does UoE need to be more relevant?

Think about how amazing it would be if Epcot tied into the "green" thing. They could do a whole media campaign. First, they should build a Solar Tower (like they have in Seville, Spain) which can power up to 60,000 homes. They should use that to power all of Future World, and if possible, all of...

    E-tickets

I don't know how I would define it. For me, there is a very fine line. For example, I would call Soarin' an E, but not PhilharMagic (as much as I love it). I guess, for me, an E-ticket has to "transport" you or let you experience something you otherwise wouldn't, either to a different place...

    Hunchback of Notre Dame Show?

Neither are the Little Mermaid (Ariel dies), Sleeping Beauty (lets just say that she has babies with the prince...while still asleep), or Snow White (Snow White is less than 10, and the queen is a cannibal). Disney changes almost all their stories from the source material. It's just the way it...

Overheard on my trip to the World

I've overheard a VIP guide telling a kid that it was a chalk line drawn by Peter Pan so Tinkerbell wouldn't get lost. I wonder what happens when it rains. :ROFLOL:
