    Kissimmee hotels/motels...

Depends on what you define cheap. Just got the Holiday Inn Express in Kissimmee (laughingly calls itself LBV East) via a PL express deal, $46. Gets decent TA reviews. Think the LBV side has better options for clean. Last year, got the Holiday Inn LBV resort (former Sunspree, really LBV) via PL...

    Pin Collecting Websites

Been looking for other places besides ebay, craigslist to post a pin collection. Most Disney boards are like this one -they don't allow sales; or they require you be a longtime member/poster. Hoping someone in the community knows of other sites to list official WDW pin collections. Thanks!

    Holiday Inn LBV via Priceline

Hadn't been on this forum in a while, thought I'd share an update. The Holiday Inn on 535 not far from DTD has been coming up via Priceline. It's in the LBV area, a 3.5* category. Just got it for $49/night which isn't bad. Hope that helps.

Does anybody drive off site to shop?

Also shop the Orlando Outlets off Vineland - good Disney store there.

    Food and Wine Festival

The list of events does not come out until the end of summer. The date for booking is usually the first or second week of August. You will need to keep checking the boards for an announcement. Even though there will be a list of the hard-ticket events (additional charge), the daily schedule of...

WDW Restaurant Challenge Part II: EPCOT

Picked Coral Reef since Bistro was off the list. FWIW.

Tables In Wonderland: Is it really worth it?

ITA! We like the signature dining, the wine, valet parking and all that, so we do at least 3-4 dinners each trip, a couple times a year. Plus we are usually going with a big group of people, so the savings add up fast. Last February we retired our latest DDE card in style with dinners at FF...

    Tables in Wonderland price increase

Nice math. We just retired our card in style: we had a party of 6 at Flying Fish, 10 at Narcoosees and 8 at Jiko. Saved more than $350 in meals/wine/valet. And we were already a few hundred ahead. So, $75 for a new card; that's only a couple signatures for us (or one night at V&A). FWIW.

Does offsite save money for a disney-only family?

If you're not going to do a car, you're better off getting the best deal you can get at a value resort. From what I understand of most off-site transportation the buses are occasional (only morning and evening/night, so no midday naps) and sometimes cost $. How big a place are you wanting...

    Side-by-side condo or villa

Still looking. Dates have changed to 7 nights, Monday to Monday. February 23 through March 2nd. A great deal on a 6BR would work, but think I am still better off looking for 2 3BR units in the same community (WH, WP, EI). Thanks in advance.

    Side-by-side condo or villa

thanks for the suggestion. We are all adults, just looking for a good deal on two units close to each other, hoping for Windsor Hills, Windsor Palms, Emerald Island. TIA.

    Side-by-side condo or villa

Looking for a lead for an owner with 2 3BR condos or villas close to each other for the last weekend in February 2009. Our dates do not work for the vacationcentralflorida.com or the 5mins2disney.com places, so I am just looking for other places to search. TIA!

    Disney in Oahu?

IIRC it's supposed to be in the Ko Olina area, another vacation resort like HH. FWIW.

Cancelled Dining plan and getting the DDE card

Just a reminder, the card will not be good on Thanksgiving day. We've had several DDE cards over the years, always saved $$. Since we're TS, app, wine, signature dining people it just makes more sense for us. Anyway, enjoy the card and the trip.

Sharing plates at TS restaurants anyone done

You of course cannot share at buffets, but regular table service is fine. We have done it quite often at places like Jiko, CaliGrill. Splitting apps, entrees, sharing desserts. Never an issue. Looks like you're paying OOP, so you do not have to worry about the DDP. Enjoy.

    Car Rental.

Just agreeing with everyone else, a car is worth it for convenience and speed, even on property. WL to MK via boat will probably be faster, but the car will be better than bus for places like DTD or other resorts for dinner. While you are off property, I would say that a car is almost a must...

Food and Wine: Party for the Senses? Anyone been?

We're not able to go this year, but have done several in years past. It is one of our favorite F&W events. The P4TS is an upscale cocktail party; you walk (though there is limited seating) around a large room that has food/wine stations scattered about. You are given a souvenir wine glass...

The new name for Disney Dining Experience is goofy

It always does for us. We do a lot of resort and signature dining, so with parking, wine and food discounts, one nice dinner pays for the cost of the card. FWIW.

    Confused about the DDE card

IIRC (and am sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) the items not covered on the DDP are processed like on a separate bill, to give the discount, then add the tip. So I think you will get 2 bills (or two sections of one bill): one DDP with credits, on which you owe a tip; and a second for...

    Best Off-Site Hotel (if any)???

The hotels in the Marriott Village are good, close, 2 offer free breakfast. They run morning and evening shuttles, check Mousesavers for deals. I think the Residence Inn and Courtyard LBV on Palm also have a paid shuttle. Other than the hotels in DTD, I'm not sure if any have extensive...
