    Yeah the auto WB is great on this cam but it doesn't hit it right on every shot. When the lighting's mixed (like in that one) it's susceptible to getting fooled. In this case, it probly locked in/overweighted those big bright lights on the lampost, plus the fountain.

    I should've clarified that a little :) There are different kinds of IS. Some shift a lens element, some shift the sensor (the chip that records the image), some are digital. I have a p&s that uses a lens shift IS (I think all the canon p&s are lens shift) where one of the lens elements inside...

    For low-light, I usually just take advantage of railings, tables, benches, trash cans, and whatever I can. For shutter over a couple seconds or where a trash can or whatever doesn't give me the right angle I sometimes use one of these -- http://www.pedcopods.com. That Boulangerie shot though...
