News “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater

I know Rohde didn't add the following caveat, and I know that this is a joke, but I personally find A Bug's Life/Zootopia attractions in the Tree of Life Theatre more justifiable than an entire Zootopia land because it is a single, B- or C-ticket attraction located in a park-appropriate setting...

It’s funny bc it’s true! (It’s also sad) Edit: Sorry, I just realized this was a really old thread. Didn’t mean to bump

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

I have to wonder if the poor reaction to Moana/Zootopia spooked management a bit. While it sounds silly, the fact that they’re presenting yet *another* blue sky idea is really strange.

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

While I am beyond bummed that the land’s Dinosaur focus is being abandoned, at least this plan feels more cohesive than the weird Moana/Zootopia combo. I don’t love these plans, but I also don’t hate them. I think I expected so much worse that this feels somewhat acceptable 😂. That said, I’d...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Or guests and fans could hold Disney accountable. That’s kind of the point of capitalism as well 🤷‍♂️

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

The CNBC piece is a fantastic and *very* revealing. I’m no fan of Chapek and the direction he’d have taken Disney, but it’s hard not to feel for the guy. Iger (perhaps unintentionally?) set him up to fail from the start.

Does anyone else feel the urgency to visit WDW at this point more than ever?

At this point, I sincerely hope this happens. Imagine all those P&R revenues being used exclusively on P&R rather than subsidizing Disney+ and expensive acquisitions.

News Walt Disney World to eliminate self-service paper straws and plastic lids

I started bringing my own plastic, disposable straws from to the park when Disney eliminated their use. Looking like I’m going to be buying my own paper cups and plastic lids as well…I’ve got the room for it.

News Hatbox Ghost coming to Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion

Adding him to the endless hallway, huh? *sigh* Par for the course. Unfortunately, this is what happens when storytellers and masters of their craft are replaced by Instagram wannabes…

What to do about the Speedway?

I'd keep the queue/load pretty much where it is in Tomorrowland. The exterior would be themed to the "Internet City," which lends itself to the Tomorrowland location. I really like your Cy-Bugs idea though! That's a neat concept.

    Alternate Universe Epcot

Sorry for the massive thread bump, but I just wanted to say, @DlpPhantom, I absolutely loved reading this thread. You have some amazing ideas--many of which I believe are exceptionally better than those implemented by WDI over the last 4-5 years. I especially love the "Innovation Campus" concept...

What to do about the Speedway?

While it doesn’t solve the capacity problem, I always thought this was a creative way to solve the “limbo space” problem that the Speedway has: Facing Tomorrowland, the surroundings reflect Internet City (or whatever it was called). Facing Fantasyland, the surroundings appear as Candy Crush...

News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

Disney selling off portions of Fox is evidence that the Fox merger was, by and large, an unnecessary purchase. It is not evidence that Disney paid less for the company.

News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

Im sure there are many high-dollar Disney execs who agree with your assessment, and that is precisely the problem that Disney faces long term. But hey, what do I know? Maybe $71.3b for Avatar, the Fantastic Four & the X-Men was totally worth it! (Never mind the fact that by the time X-Men and...

News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

Whether the general public views Marvel/Lucas as Disney or not, Disney sure wants them to and is working overtime to make it happen. From Disney+ to Disney100 promotional materials and merchandise, it's clear that the company wants the world to know that it's all about Marvel, Star Wars, and...

News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

There's a lot of places that an answer to this question could go, but simply put I believe that Marvel, Fox, and Lucasfilm were all unnecessary acquisitions that have diluted the Disney brand. Fox was the biggest mistake, though severe mismanagement/office politics at Lucasfilm is slowly killing...
