    airport security

Good for you! Guess what? I'll fly myself in a twin-engine prop with my pilot's license, and I'll take all the sunscreen, water, soda............pretty much whatever I want since TSA doesn't screen general aviation! :brick:

United Airlines Fare Sale. TONIGHT ONLY!

Thanks for the double post, and Southwest is one of the reasons why they keep the legacy carriers prices down so I can get elite status. :D

    I love Southwest!!!

By the way, the "fun fares", "internet specials", and others are just a different form of booking codes. "Fun fares" usually mean that the cheaper fares are gone because of a half-full flight or you are out of the minimum days before flight purchase. "Internet specials" usually mean that the...

Anyone know how they pick people for "additional security screening" at the airport??

Exactly! Per TSA's website at http://www.tsa.gov/public/display?theme=183&content=09000519800b68b8 Am I wearing the right shoes? You are NOT REQUIRED to remove your shoes before you enter the walk-through metal detector. However, TSA screeners may encourage you to remove them before...

Anyone know how they pick people for "additional security screening" at the airport??

I'm telling you, read "1984" and you'll see where I'm coming from. Oh I show my ID......my Library of Congress card. It's a government-issued photo ID, so I can use it to get through security. Just my name and my picture on it is all that the boarding pass checkers and TSA need to know...

Anyone know how they pick people for "additional security screening" at the airport??

And this is what I fear our country is headed to. I play their game and follow their rules, why should I have to take off my shoes if they are less than an inch? We're getting closer and closer to becoming the old Soviet Union.

Anyone know how they pick people for "additional security screening" at the airport??

Hello! No one is going to try because it's already been tried! I love this country, but I'm not going to give up my right just for the name of "security".

Anyone know how they pick people for "additional security screening" at the airport??

I agree, I bet that Rob and myself fly more miles in a year than all of the posters in this thread combined. It is a big deal, have you ever read 1984? I feel like this is the first step at the government slowly taking away our rights. Also, has anyone since 9/11 been caught with a shoe bomb...

Anyone know how they pick people for "additional security screening" at the airport??

Well, I never check bags because I don't know if my bag is going to make it to me, I can get to the airport later, and I can take an eariler flight home if I want to. I carry on a bag within regs and I can pack a weeks worth of clothes in!

Anyone know how they pick people for "additional security screening" at the airport??

I agree. I wear 3/4'' sole Adidas shoes and I've never had a problem with them. I NEVER take my shoes off, even if they ask me to, I remind them of SOP and THEN all the sudden they let me through! Wear shoes less than an inch sole and you'll have no problems. Knowledge is power.

    southwest question

If you're going to/from San Diego, they are now testing assigned seating. It's official: Southwest to test assigned seating The carrier's assigned seating test will begin July 10 on about 200 selected flights departing from San Diego, USA TODAY reports. The test will run several weeks with...

    Southwest Seat Size ?

I think this policy is fair. I have been crammed in a middle seat with 2 POS (Persons Of Size) in the aisle and window next to me on a MCO-PHX flight, it was not a fun 4 hour flight for me. If someone is going to spill over into my seating area that I paid for, then they should pay for the extra...

Anyone ever fly with Jet Blue?

Continental and Southwest are both fine airlines. Just don't get stuck in coach on Continental, their seats are not as "cushy" as other airlines, but I usually get upgraded. Continental also has "meals at mealtime" for FREE, which is the biggest plus for me. JetBlue is a great airline, but I...
