How Many DVC Members Live Near WDW??

I'm from Kentucky but was based in England when we bought into Old Key West in 1992. We now live in Celebration. We've lived here for two years now. I'd say don't do anything at first and see what happens. We've found that they're great for guests, weekend getaways with just my wife and me...

    DVC help

Everyone has to make an individual decision on DVC. We've been members since 1992 and have enjoyed it immensely. But it is not for everyone and I do not look on it as an investment. There are lots of other things you can buy that are investments. If you plan to come to Orlando, once or twice...

    Dining Recommendations

It depends on your budget. Our favorite restaurants are California Grill, Flying Fish, Jiko and Citrico's. Less expensive restaurants are Whispering Canyon and Boma. Enjoy. John

2 DVC Studios versus 2 bedroom villa

It's all personal preference and the number of points you have. Two adjoinong studios is really two hotel rooms...which to me sort of defeats the purpose of DVC. A two bedroom suite makes you feel more at home. If you can't swing the points, fine, go for it.

    weekend rooms.. cash v's points??

We have done it for years. It's a great way to efficiently use points. We always book through Member Services and try to get the Member Discount (25%, I think) for the cash nights. Go for it. John

Ron, Thanks for the flip flop comment. I'm a big flip flop guy and i wear them pretty much all the time with some fairly dressy outfits and have never had a problem. I do put on socks (and shoes!) for Victoria & Alberts but no place else. John

Do you miss the disney resort rooms?

Well, we have four kids and we bought DVC becasue of the rooms. There's no right or wrong answer here....it's VERY personal. You really need to try the rooms at DVC to see if you like it. I always tell people that once you try a one bedroom unit at Old Key West, you'll never stay in another...
