    Snakes

We've gone to WDW upwards of 45 times in the last ten years. The only time we saw a snake was in the vegetation near the Wilderness Lodge pool. Once reported- I'd say they had it captured within 5 minutes. (it was mating season- so they said) Anyway- to get back to the original comment- never...

    Jack Skeleton???

A friend of mine is headed down to WDW in a few weeks. She was curious as to whether Jack Skeleton makes character appearances- and if so, where?

    Need assistance picking a resort!

I agree! GF would be my last choice. It's a little too stuffy for me. Poly is definitely the more romantic resort- with the beaches and softly lit pathways at night. I do love the Contemporary. You can't lose- whichever resort you choose!!!

    Best Value Resort Food Court

WE think the Pop is the best! We visit there for dinner once or twice a trip. Lots of good food options- plus you never know when you'll get to do the "Hustle"!!!!!

Late arrival time on first day

We love to Resort hop....every trip we do the monorail loop- stop at all the resorts- look at new stuff- shop all the stores......well worth it!!!! (Sometimes we even catch the piano player in the lobby of the GF! Or- you can always see which park has extra magic hours and start your trip out...

    Pre trip Jitters?

I totally agree with the checklist. About a week before we leave- I start my list. As I go through the week and think of things- I add them. I truly always end up taking far more than I'd ever need on any given trip. When you take your own car- it's easy to make sure you have everything you...

    Room for 3??

We've done the roll-away beds- but they are horribly uncomfortable!!! You could do cabins at FW..............

    Boardwalk or Yacht Club

Personally- I would choose Yacht Club. I just love the dark woods and the colors of their themeing. Both have an amazing location- but I prefer the pool and restaurants at this resort (and Beach Club). They're both so close that visiting the other restaurants and entertainment is easy. It's a...

    Safari, Horseback Riding & Tours

The Behind the Seeds tour was great! My DH and I went one year during the holidays. Quite informative- especially if you're a person that enjoys gardening! I'm interested in the Backstage Safari, too! If you end up doing it- please post a report about it! Love to hear how it was......

A view for New Years Eve, and is it worth staying 1 night at...?

Not sure how Bay Lake Tower does the roof-top viewing on NYE- but if it was open - I think it would be amazing!! They play the music on the roof-top and in spots- you can even see EPCOT fireworks. We're trying to make our ressies for BLT this holiday. We'll see!!!! Good luck!

    Christmas to New Years

Go with the WL. I think the pirate rooms at CBR are the farthest away from the food court area. (Aruba is one building with them.) I think you'll enjoy the festivity at the WL more. We'll be there at the same time- but we stay at our home at Beach Club Villas. Nothing like WDW at the...

    Off the Beaten Path

I love to watch the JAMMitors at EPCOT. They usually perform near Innoventions- on the side of Electric Umbrella. They are hysterical and awesome! Check your guide times.......they're great performers. I especially loved seeing their performance during the Flower and Garden Festival.

Keys to the Kingdom tour question

I'm fairly certain there is a DVC discount on all tours. There are also AP discounts, too......

    15 Month AP for first-timers?

I agree with Rob562! I got 15 months when I renewed my pass in December. I saw a billboard while there stating that the 15 months was for Florida residents. Although in my opinion- it never hurts to call and ask. If they say no- at least you asked.................

    Favorite song from the parks?

I loved the Vuela music from EPCOT's Tapestry of Dreams parade. You can still hear a little melody of it as you walk around World Showcase from time to time.

Choosing gifts for people back home

For the grown ups- I've done stuff like the Mickey shaped mac'n'cheese with a spatula, pens, antenna toppers. They even have some great dress socks for men. My step-father loves them. They are Disney- but not so obvious. The new store in DTD (attached to Team Mickey- not sure what it's...

    July or August?

I prefer July over August. It is slightly less humid and more confortable for us. But I would stay away from 4th of July week. It is mobbed then! :dazzle:

Favorite things to do in Downtown Disney?

On our August trip- we did the new balloon ride. It was $14.95 p/p. I really enjoyed being that high above WDW and seeing the recognizable sights. Our "pilot" was terrific and made the experience worthwhile. Also- if you're looking for a time filler- you could take the boat ride from DTD to...

Good Lunch/Sandwich Places at the Resorts?

I agree with nibblesandbits! Captain Cooks at the Poly is great!!! Their pulled pork sandwich is also great! We also go to Whispering Canyon in the WL. They have awesome salads and sandwiches.
