Best way to get Eat to the Beat seating?

I'd say Toad the Wet Sprocket are definitely worth a look see, but maybe you'd agree with me that they're not exactly main stream hit makers anymore. I'd guess Saturday will be busy (just because it's Saturday), but I doubt you'd have trouble getting seats to the 2nd and 3rd shows with a...

Best way to get Eat to the Beat seating?

It would be helpful if you'd mention the group you want to see and the days of the week they're performing. Then those of us with experience can give our estimates of seating demand. I did FP+ once last year and my observation is this: It was entirely unnecessary, the demand was very low, and...

Tropical Depression Nine impact to Walt Disney World

Agree the radar looked ominous all evening. But I sat on my back patio and watched and heard fireworks from both DHS and Epcot. No bad weather anywhere close. Still outside now. Typical summer night. Hot humid and no trace of a breeze.

Tropical Depression Nine impact to Walt Disney World

There hasn't been a wind gust above 8mph in the last 4 or 5 hours here in the Disney area. And not a drop of rain.

Tropical Depression Nine impact to Walt Disney World

As an aside - this is almost the exact track forecast for Charlie in August 2004 on the very morning of landfall. Charlie had other ideas however and came ashore about 120 miles south of the forecast track. NWS is getting better but this is still a very inexact science.

Changes at WDW due to alligator attack (dedicated thread)

Got a chuckle out of this tonight walking to the Beach Club around 9pm. Very large "Beach Area Closed" A-frame signs at every beach access point. And six different groups of guests (I'd say 20 or so total people) enjoying said beach and lounge chairs and swings and kids playing in the sand.

Disney (finally) Announces Full Eat to the Beat 2016 Schedule

Last year, Chaka Khan gave a pretty good - not great - but worth seeing concert. Apparently her doctors have advised her to plan to begin performing again by August 1 as that should all be considered part of the recovery.

Crowds are down? Curious about the claims . . .

Orange County Comptroller Martha Haynie issued her monthly press release re' May 2016 Tourist Development Tax (i.e. Bed Tax) collections. Tax revenue increased 4.4% year over year. Part of her statement: TDT collections received by Orange County for the hotel collection month of May 2016 were...

Crowds are down? Curious about the claims . . .

8 visits to Epcot in June and crowds are light. Only saw one tour group. Just reported that May was the fourth month in a row to show year over year declines for hotel occupancy in Orlando.

WDW Taking a Hit Over Gator and Massacre ...

Thought I'd throw this in since it's not worthy of its own thread. From the front page of today's print edition of the O'Sentinel by Sandra Pedicini: Orlando tourist destinations start summer on a sour note "Orlando's tourism industry is heading into the summer facing a number of challenges...

Changes at WDW due to alligator attack (dedicated thread)

Did I say it should be closed? Did I ask for a land side fence or CMs to be posted? No, I didn't - I was merely posting information. I don't think the beaches should be closed at all.

Changes at WDW due to alligator attack (dedicated thread)

I've seen a couple of posts talking about beaches opening after sunrise and closing well before sunset, but apparently this isn't the case. Walked to BC last night around 9pm and the beaches were open with no CMs in sight. There were 5 or 6 guests including kids on the sand.

WDW Taking a Hit Over Gator and Massacre ...

Not to mention that Disney had over 240 alligators removed over the last ten years. That's roughly one every two weeks. That's pretty much an admission that Disney thought (knew) that these animals were a hazard. It seems to have been done almost on the QT so as not to draw attention to the...

RCID today approved $335M for four major road projects

I couldn't find this posted but if so, will the Mods please delete. From O'Sentinel Sandra Pedicini this afternoon. Pertinent parts of the article: "Work on four major road projects at Walt Disney World - including an overpass over the Magic Kingdom parking toll plaza - should be complete by...

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

I don't get why people are suggesting that this is temporary. Do you expect Disney to take down the fence in six months and issue a press release saying problem solved? Just for laughs go to You Tube and look at a couple of videos of a gator climbing a chain link fence.

    What's up with Disney's wi-fi?

From the OS: Gator drags child into Seven Seas Lagoon

A 4 footer could carry out an attack like this. I saw one of this size come after a smallish dog in downtown Celebration a few years ago. The huge problem is ignorant people feeding them.

Disney's Social Media in the Wake of Tragedy

I'm far from Iger's biggest fan but I think a statement from an actual human being is more personal and meaningful than a statement such as "The Walt Disney Company deeply regrets....blah, blah, blah". Blessings on all touched by this horror.
